“What do you mean?” Avery’s voice cut through the room as she sat up in her seat, disbelief flashing across her face.
Alisa sat on her usual chair across the mahogany desk, remaining composed and folding her hands over the iPad resting on her lap. She had been the person breaking the news about the latest problem circling the Internet.
“Avery,” Alisa said steadily after letting her frustration settle, “in order for you to shut down these rumours before they get out of control, you have two options.” She held up two fingers. “Either you attend the gala tonight and make an appearance with Jameson, or agree to sit an interview.”
Avery let out a short humourless laugh, continuing as though Alisa didn’t say anything, “Before you know, everyone going to assume I’m praying on Lyra’s downfall. For goodness sake, I disappear for a week and somehow I want Grayson to myself?!” She shook her head and scoffed. “Did they conveniently forget I’ve been with Jameson for 2 years? What can possibly be the advantage of that?”
Alisa waited until Avery had finished venting before responding.
“Unfortunately, Avery, disliking these rumours aren’t going to make them disappear and for the record, they already think you want Lyra banished.”
Avery’s face shifted from irritation to genuine confusion.
“Don’t tell me they’re sending her hate.”
Alisa winced and slid the iPad across the desk towards her. “The hate she has been receiving has been...”
She didn’t finish. She didn’t need to.
Avery’s face fell as her eyes scanned the pages infront of her.
“All of this for dating Grayson? Let them live in peace and date, goodness.”
Her voice softened before looking back at Alisa. “And for Lyra’s own sake, tell her to stay of the Internet for a while. I know she will hate it but it’s for her health.”
A sad smile crossed Avery’s face.
“Trust me, I’ve been there.”
Alisa gave her a sympathetic look as Avery continued.
“If the hate has been spreading to The Grandest Game players, I need you to sign me up for an interview as quick as possible like you said.”
Alisa frowned. “Are you sure?,” she asked, “the next one I can book for is in two days.”
Avery sighed. “I’m sure. I know Grayson will be the one wanting to shut down the rumours but if he says anything, people will twist it into another headline.
It’s better for me to shut down this hate, especially on my players when they haven’t done anything.”
Alisa studied her for a moment before nodding.
“I’ll make the arrangements.”
She paused and her eyes narrowed as she looked at Avery.
“However, how exactly are you planning to shut down the allegations between you and Grayson?”
Avery smirked as she picked up her phone and shook it. “Oh, don’t you worry about that.”
Jlb saw this character and though marriage would be the best idea to solve his trauma and identity issues:
If jlb marries them and doesn't tell me that he found a career or a real passion (apart from playing games), I will riot for him. He is the only one who I feel doesn't have a life purpose (maybe I am wrong, but it definitely feels like that)

🌊 ── SLOANE TAVISH is the best at positioning herself to have the most success staying on the tube because #physics but she's also least likely to get on the tube in the first place.
🌊 ── most likely to scream their head off the whole time regardless of how scary it actually is is CASSIE HOBBES.
🌊 ── DEAN REDDING would rather not partake but he will ride with cassie if she asks him.
🌊 ── MICHAEL TOWNSEND is banned from driving the boat.
🌊 ── LIA ZHANG is really good at staying on the tube. also at pushing people (cough cough michael cough) off the tube.
🌊 ── also good at staying on the tube is CELINE DELACROIX. she will kick michael off without mercy if they end up on the same tube.
⚓︎ THE INHERITANCE GAMES
🌊 ── NASH HAWTHORNE is the fucking insane boat driver. and i mean ABSOLUTELY FUCKING insane.
🌊 ── GIGI GRAYSON is a shrieker. usually right in savannah's ear.
🌊 ── SAVANNAH GRAYSON appears very steady and calm on the tube but if you look close enough she has a death grip on the handles.
🌊 ── MAX LIU and XANDER HAWTHORNE get into a competition to see who can get more bruises.
🌊 ── GRAYSON HAWTHORNE does not partake in any of this nonsense. but one time he rode on the boat (he was forced to by gigi and xander.)
🌊 ── JAMESON HAWTHORNE aka Mr Thrill Seeker rides that damn tube as much as possible. he and LYRA KANE try to knock each other off, which is why they are banned from sharing a tube... however they still find ways to knock the other off.
🌊 ── AVERY GRAMBS loves the adrenaline rush of tubing, however she does not enjoy the crazier bumps.
🌊 ── tubing was the first time everyone heard ROHAN scream. bro caught some air and nearly flew off the tube.
🌊 ── LIBBY GRAMBS screams while on the tube just for the fun of it.
🌊 ── KNOX LANDRY is always getting air time. he also likes to try and push people off.
🌊 ── EVE BLAKE was against the idea at first but eventually she ended up on a tube with gigi and MATTIAS SLATER. gigi had the most fun.

🌊 ── SAWYER TAFT is absolutely goated at staying on the tube.

🌊 ── CAMPBELL AMES is lowkey a menace when she's driving the boat. also least likely to stop for you if you happen to fall off (you will.) she goes until everyone is in the water
🌊 ── SADIE-GRACE WATERS is highkey terrified whenever she rides on the tube.
🌊 ── NICK RYAN refuses to ride on a tube.
🌊 ── on the other hand JESSI RYAN loves a good tube ride. bonus points if she flies off.
🌊 ── BOONE MASON stays on the boat and films a really dramatic video, narrating everything that happens.

🌊 ── ASHER RHODES goes absolutely batshit insane on a tube. he is practically trying to fly off.
🌊 ── HENRY MARQUETTE drives the boat.
🌊 ── EMILIA RHODES is surprisingly good at staying on the tube. she refuses to ride on the same one as her brother. (which is fair.)
🌊 ── VIVVIE BHARANI is terrified of the tubes especially after seeing how asher behaves on them.
🌊 ── TESS KENDRICK always does her best to get vivvie on the tube with her and usually succeeds. she will kick asher if he tries to bump their tubes together.
