look at him heâs so cute
It was Friday night, otherwise known as yours and Calumâs weekly movie night. Every week, you and Calum met at the othersâ house and stayed up all night watching movies. This week, you both decided on Calumâs apartment, where you would try (and fail, probably) to have a Disney movie marathon.Â
Your knuckles hit the white-stained wood softly, and you waited for someone to come to the door. You stood in front of Calumâs apartment, anxiously tapping your foot.Â
You brought up your hand again, ready to knock, but the door swung open before you could.Â
In the doorway stood Calumâs roommate, Ashton. He had nothing on but some sweatpants, and you snickered at the sight of him.Â
âWhatâs so funny?â Ashton asked as you walked into the apartment, sliding your phone into your back pocket.Â
âYou. Iâd think you would at least try and put something on this time.âÂ
Ashton shrugged his shoulders before walking into the kitchen. âYeah, but then how am I supposed to impress the total babe that comes by every other weekend? She canât see my hot bod if itâs covered by a shirt.âÂ
You snorted. âWhatever you say, Ash. Whereâs Cal?â
âHis room, probably.âÂ
âOkay, thanks.â You walked down the hall until you reached Calumâs door, knocking on it twice.Â
âCome in,â a muffled voice said. You turned the knob and walked into Calumâs room. He was laying in bed on his side, looking at his laptop.Â
âCal I swear to God if youâre watching The Office again-â
âYâknow, you say that every week but you donât actually do anything,â he smirked and sat up, looking at you. âWhatâre you gonna do, anyway? Cancel my Netflix subscription?â
You playfully punched his arm as you sat down next to him. âOh, shut up. You know I will.â
âYeah, okay,â he replied sarcastically. âWhatever you say, babe.â
The word seemed to roll off his tongue with ease, his australian accent emphasizing it. Your heart fluttered and your cheeks tinted pink, so you looked down at the bracelet on your wrist.Â
The room went silent for a few minutes, the only sound that could be heard was the sound of your breathing.Â
âSo, Mulan or Hercules?â
You lost track of how many movies you had watched, but you figured it was at least two in the morning.Â
The two of you sat on Calumâs bed, wrapped up in multiple blankets, watching the screen in front of you. You were now watching Moana, since you seemed to have watched all your favorite Disney movies so far.Â
You slowly blinked, the feeling of exhaustion starting to take a toll on you. Your head fell to the side and you rested it on Calumâs shoulder, not noticing the way he slightly tensed at your action.Â
He wrapped his arm around you, and you snuggled into his side. His stomach erupted into butterflies, but he ignored the feeling and kept his eyes on his laptop. Although after a while, he couldnât keep his eyes off you.Â
You were half-asleep, eyes closed with a smile on your lips. The only way Calum could tell you were awake was because you were humming the tune of âHow Far Iâll Goâ. His eyes held a look of adoration as he stared down at you, a smile tugging on his lips.Â
You opened your eyes slightly, looking up at Calum. He didnât seem to notice you were awake yet, because he was still looking at you with a smile on his face.Â
âHey, Cal, why are you looking at me like that?â You mumbled, turning to rest your forehead on his shoulder.
âLike what?â He asked, although he knew exactly what you were referring to.Â
âYâknow, like-like youâre in love with meâŚor somethingâŚâ your eyelids grew heavier and you leaned into Calum, taking in his scent of cigarettes and his cologne.Â
There was a moment of silence before Calum spoke. âMaybe itâs because I am in love with you.â
You swore your heart stopped when he said that. Your eyes shot open and your head flew up so you were looking at him properly. âD-did you justâŚsay you loved me?âÂ
Your heart was now pounding so fast you thought it was going to rip out of your chest. Well, at least Iâm not tired anymore.Â
âUh- I mean-â He ran a hand through his hair, something he did when he was nervous. âYeah?â
There was a long pause, and the room was dead silent. âI completely understand if you donât feel the same, I-I mean,â he stuttered out, trying to find the right words. âYou can probably find some amazing guy, you will probably find some amazing guy, and thatâs fine because seriously, who would-â He stopped rambling when he felt your fingers intertwine with his. He looked up at you, a small smile forming on his lips.Â
âI love you too, Cal. I have since we first met.â There was a warm smile on your lips, and Calum couldnât help but glance at them longingly.Â
As if on instinct, you both leaned in. Your lips brushed together and you smiled, then pressing your lips against his in a gentle kiss. His lips were slightly chapped and tasted of cigarettes, but you absolutely loved it.Â
You pulled away, your heart pounding in your chest. When you looked at Calum, there was a smile on his lips and a dazed look in his eyes. You leaned in and pecked his lips again before turning back to his laptop, shifting so you were resting your head on his chest.Â
Calum moved his arm to rest around your waist, his fingers brushing against your side.Â
You were almost asleep now, the sound of the movie playing in the background starting to become fuzzy. Calum noticed this and gently shut his laptop before laying back, wrapping his other arm around you to pull you down with him.Â
You smiled when he pressed his lips against your forehead, mumbling a quick âgoodnightâ. Your eyes grew heavy and you finally let yourself sleep, the lingering feeling of Calumâs lips against yours leaving a smile on your face.Â
