WELL WELL WELL you all really went out and left my greatest expectations in shambles this week. 😆 Word on the street is you made Fearless (my version) the biggest country album first week of the last 6 years and the top release of 2021 so far. Honestly??? How?? Did I get this lucky???? I wanted to say thank you to you so today I will be addressing a very pressing issue. 🐈🐈⬛❓
We ❤️ that Taylor is nominated for FOUR iHeartRadio Music Awards!! You can vote cardigan for Best Lyrics (and yourselves for Best Fan Army 😉) every day at iHeartRadio.com/Awards!

Hello 👋🏽 I am a physically disabled black woman, an artist, and the sole caretaker of my autistic brother.
Last year, our home was sold from underneath us after our father passed away and my brother and I were left with almost nothing, and nowhere to go. We lost everything. And since, have been struggling every single day to survive and keep a roof over our heads.
We are fighting the system for assistance for my brother, but have been denied twice despite full proof of the extent of disability.
They Do Not Want Us To Live.
But we don't want to give up. We're raising funds for housing so that we can keep trying to survive together. Black Disabled Lives Matter. We should be allowed the same tools to live as everyone else. So we ask for your help.
Please help us, share our GoFundMe, share our story, donate if you can. Help us keep a roof over our heads so that we can KEEP TRYING.
Thank you 🙏🏽💜
PLEASE READ MOST RECENT UPDATE AT END OF STORY! We have lost the home … Dave Davis needs your support for Help 2 Black & Disabled Siblings
If you can't go vegan now (and want to obviously) because of health, your family, etc, that's okay. That needs to be said more. If you're making a conscious effort to do as little environmental damage as you can, to be as green as you can. That's all that matters. All that matters is that you're trying. If you have health conditions that limit your diet, or medication that you need to take; 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗞𝗔𝗬. You shouldn't be made to feel guilty or made out as some sort of villain for something that you have no control over.
You cracked the codes and guessed all the From The Vault titles. 👏👏👏
Here’s the full track list, my friends. I’m really honored that Keith Urban is a part of this project, duetting on That’s When and singing harmonies on We Were Happy. I was his opening act during the Fearless album era and his music has inspired me endlessly. I’m counting down the minutes til we can all jump into this brave world together, filled with equal parts nostalgia and brand newness.
Head first, Fearless 💛

We can agree to disagree on the long term value, because past efforts of re-recording have proven to be ineffective in the long term of undercutting the value of original catalogues, but then again I could very well be wrong because Taylor is on a whole other magnitude so she could definitely pull this off. It might not actually be an index fund but what I was referring to is the Hipgnosis Song fund which is publicly traded and includes catalogues from Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, jack antonoff, journey, and a bunch others
this is going to be long as fuck and i am sorry but i have a lot to say. so to start off, hipgnosis is an investment company. it isn’t trading artists’ catalogues, but rather its own shares - and its line of business is music. they also own publishing more than masters. at the technical level there are differences but UMG, taylor’s label, is publicly traded as well, but that doesn’t mean people are investing in the music, but rather in a company that happens to work in music.
that aside, it’s true that what taylor is doing is unprecedented in many ways and that other artists haven’t found the success she is looking for in doing the same. but i also think there are a number of key differences between her and anyone else who has tried.
she owns her publishing rights and she’s a maverick about them. she rarely granted syncs at all during in her career and now she’s refusing them entirely on her own catalog, to the point where she herself has said if it means she’s ruining her legacy, then so be it, unless she’s in control. those rights means that there’s virtually nothing that the current owners can do unilaterally, and with her not agreeing to shit, in practice, nothing at all.
she is absolutely meticulous about making music. she’s always been intimately involved in the process of creating a song and so can easily make versions that are basically carbon copies, because she knows exactly what ingredients to add. she’s not going to release any re-records where she isn’t 300% satisfies with the quality and certain that it lives up to the original in her mind, which has a much higher standard than the GP and even us. and she cares so deeply that they’re not going to lose any spark or energy - her entire soul was in the music to begin with and it’s in it even more now. i’m not even sure many other artists are as close with their catalog as she is with hers emotionally.
she’s positioned this to make it not about just herself. she as a human and as an artist deserves to own her music, but she knows this is a bigger fight than that. by positioning it as a move she’s making for the greater good for artists and also for women - and it is - she has a lot of goodwill. scooter and scott also played into that by treating her like absolute shit.
she has us. no one at her level has done this before and very few artists have a fan base that is both as loyal as we are and as educated about the music industry. we are her unforeseeable factor and we can literally kill the old versions if she asks us to, which she has.
thanks for reading this essay!
I’m fully convinced half of the Swiftie population is going to be disappointed when they listen to Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and all the songs sound as similar as possible to the originals because so many of you STILL do not grasp the point of this entire undertaking

I’m elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore’s sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. It’s called evermore. To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in. I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them. And I loved creating these songs with Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB, and Justin Vernon. We’ve also welcomed some new (and longtime) friends to our musical kitchen table this time around…

One of my favorite parts of directing music videos is the daydream/prep phase: writing up a treatment, a shot list, and working with an animator to storyboard it out ahead of time. Thanks to illustrator Vincent Lucido, we can check off our shots as we go. Here’s a video showing the before and after of the willow video 🧙🏻♀️🔮🎶
