currently thinking about the time shawn and gus were trapped by yin and how gus’ last words would’ve been “i don’t blame you”

of all the things he could’ve said, he chose to comfort his best friend because he loved him and he didn’t want shawn to feel guilty for the rest of his life

most of the time they’re just joking around and doing their thing, but that scene really highlighted how beautiful their friendship was

after gus goes to college, he doesn’t really come home much. he does for fall break his first semester, but after the first couple days, he feels so antsy about it that he goes back early. after that, he only comes home for the holiday/longer breaks. if you ask him, he’d tell you that he likes the freedom that college gives him or that he’d rather hang out with his college friends.

what he really wants to say, though, is that ever since shawn split town, coming home doesn’t really feel like Coming Home anymore, that his days feel almost empty and monotonous without him, and at least when he’s at school, he can distract himself from that with something. when he’s at home, he feels surrounded by shawn, whose presence is deeply embeded in gus’s room and his house and the street he lives on and the very City itself, and it deeply unsettles him to not have his other half right next to him
