They had not been seen together in the museum galleries for quite a while. Monet’s “Women with Umbrellas” are once again side by side in the Impressionist gallery.
AND THEN THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER THE END!!!!
ok every time this post comes by i resist geeking out on it but NO LONGER so these women are probably the same woman and that woman is monet’s wife camille doncieux. he painted her a LOT. but fun fact: monet had this asshole friend named ernest hochede, and ernest racked up some debts, and like an asshole he basically just fled the country, leaving his wife alice and their six kiddos behind. monet immediately got alice and kids to move in with him, camille, and their two kids. at this point, monet, alice, and camille became my favorite probably historic poly threesome. they lived together, taking care of the kids. they were so poor that alice and camille took turns wearing the nice dress so they could go out with monet. when camille got uterine cancer and began dying, alice helped monet cope and took care of things while he painted camille over and over. when camille died, alice is the reason monet was able to survive. when ernest finally died, monet and alice married, and remained married until alice died. at that point, blanche, the oldest daughter, took care of monet until he died. anyway, the point is, the umbrella ladies are probably the same ladies, but as far as i’m concerned, there WAS a historically queer poly family in that household and they were wonderful.
this is a fucking joy

So this is not a plea for money. This is something that surprised me, and chatting with people on discord, they were unaware of as well.
Discovered last year I couldn’t look at my 2015 MacBook Air without it triggering nausea and migraines, and figured the screen died. Have been getting by on my phone, but concluded I really need a laptop again.
Saved up, realised I could afford a brand new MacBook Neo, and got one.
-And I couldn’t spend more than five minutes looking at the screen without massive eye strain, nausea, vertigo, and if I pushed it, I-need-to-lie-down-in-a-dark-room-for-hours migraines.
Looking up MacBook and Eyestrain explained what is going on. The liquid retina displays that Apple currently has uses Pulse Width Modulation or PWM. In order to give the screens a deeper depth of colour and contrast, PWM flickers between several hundred to thousand times a second.
And there is currently no way to turn it off. There are settings and apps to reduce it, but there is no way to stop the screen from flickering. Checked Apple forums, called Apple Support, and the time I could look at the screen kept shrinking. Got the laptop Tuesday, returned it Friday, today is Sunday and I’m still dealing with a vertigo migraine.
For MacBooks, it seems to vary on the computer model and the software it uses. In retrospect, the issue with my MacBook Air started after a major software update.
And it’s not just an Apple thing. Current Windows and Android screens do the same thing. There’s even a Reddit for people who are sensitive to PWM flickers to help find computers and screens that won’t trigger eyestrain and headaches.
So, yeah. This week has been a learning experience. But for those who are prone to headaches and migraines, this may be something to be aware of, cause I was not.
"Your brother left again last night," Mustadio tells Ramza, shaking him awake. "It concerned me."
"He does that," Ramza mumbles, pushing away Mustadio's hand. "It is too early to consider such matters. Let me rest."
"It does not bother you?" Mustadio asks, not at all perturbed by being rejected for physical contact. Ramza in the morning is a whole different beast, best left alone. As a mercenary, he decides his own schedule, and so a late morning doesn't hurt him or his work.
"D'es it bother you when the cat goes out to hunt?" Ramza asks, already halfway back into his dream. "Alma may do whatever he pleases. He's of age, and Altima will protect him if it comes down to it. For the love of all unholy, let me rest, 'Stadio."
Mustadio sighs, but leaves it. If Ramza is not worried, then there's no reason for him to be concerned. He leaves their small room, the room they've shared ever since leaving Ivalice, and heads down the steep wooden stairs to the room that Ramza has dubbed 'the hall', despite it being neither grand in size nor opulently decorated. It is comfortable, warm, and undoubtedly theirs, built to accommodate the two of them, Alma, and Alma's cat Teetee.
The door is open.
Mustadio immediately reaches for the pistol at his side (ever since Ramza was declared a heretic he's carried one, immediately strapped to himself the moment he wakes, and resting by his bed at night). There is nothing obviously wrong, and so he latches the door shut, only surveying the room thoroughly once he has the safety of the latched door behind him.
There's a previously-not-there heap in what they've dubbed Alma's nest, a bundle of blankets and pillows close to the hearth where Alma has taken to spend most of his nights as opposed to his own room upstairs.
He steps closer, gun still at the ready and safety off. The heap has a face, and a familiar one at that, and with a relieved sigh Mustadio flicks the safety back on and stows the gun into its holster.
It's Alma, asleep, or perhaps unconscious, but clearly Alma. There is blood smeared around his mouth again, which suggests that the odd spirit that's stuck around Alma since their fight against Altima has once again possessed his lover's brother's body.
"Oh, Alma," Mustadio says, crouching down and surveying him. Some of the blood still appears to be fresh. "One of these days, my concern for you will lead to my early demise."

It's usually Yosuke that yearns pathetically, but I think Yu should too, as a treat
Actually, my therapist has told me this is a healthy way of processing things. Because you can get the trauma out of your head And you can write the ending you wish it had. The trusted person rescue, the catharsis of getting to kill the one who hurt you.
It's good for your brain. It's healthier than bottling it up. Fiction is where we go for emotional release. That can be true with trauma too.
so what you're saying is
character: NO
therapist: YES
Adding @dear-massacre's tags because they are so true:
#this is why it's important to remember that fictional characters are fake #they have no agency. they're made up #it hurts no one to make any character go through the horrors #it is healthy and cathartic
yeah okay ill reblog that
me (crazy eyes, covered in blood): I NEED to finish writing my fanfic. so I can start writing a different fanfic.
