Since you write Forlex for now, what about one in which Alex is sick and Forrest takes care of him?or a prompt in which Alex has to go to a military event and Maria and Liz offer to go with him and Alex says he has already arranged to go with Forrest as boyfriends(and ofc everyone is like đ€Ż) Whatever you wantđÂ
This prompt is by @teamalexmanes.
i just had dental work and iâd KILL for a forlex fic if ur still taking prompts where forrest babies alex when heâs sick/injured
        âLie down!â
âI donât need to lie down!â
âYeah?â Forrest said, setting the tray in his hands down. âHow many fingers am I holding up?â
        Alex squinted a moment. âThree.â
âBaby, Iâm not holding any fingers up,â Forrest said patiently and gently pushed Alex back onto the couch by his shoulders. âLook, you said you didnât want to be in bed; youâre not in bed. But you have to follow my rules now, okay?â
âThis is ridiculous,â Alex huffed, turning over onto his back. âIâm not sick.â
âAnd yellow is totally my color,â Forrest muttered. He crouched beside Alex and pulled the blanket up to cover his exposed shoulder. âI know being taken care of isnât really your thing or whatever, but I love taking care of people. Specifically, hot airmen who I want to get better quickly so that I can make out with.â
âIâll make out with you now,â Alex said weakly, his eyes narrowed at a point over Forrestâs shoulder. âWell, one of you anyway.â
Forrest laughed. âI love you, but Iâm not about to kiss you when youâre a walking fever.â
        âIâm not sick.â
âAre too sick,â Forrest huffed, pecked Alexâs cheek, and frowned. He pressed his lips to Alexâs forehead, touched his neck, and went to get the thermometer. âYouâre getting warmer. Hereâ â he stuck the thermometer into a defiant Alexâs mouth â âkeep that under your tongue while I get more ice.â He then pointed a warning finger at a nearly dead Alex and firmly said, âStay.â
        âStop enjoying this,â Alex said.
Forrest chuckled. âI donât enjoy seeing you so tired, Cap,â he said over his shoulder. âIâm just glad that, for once, whether you like it or not, someone else can look after you.â When he came back to sit beside Alex, a soft smile tugged at his lips. âAnd Iâm grateful itâs me.â He wrung out the cold rag and touched it to Alexâs forehead. Alex shuddered at the contact and snuggled deeper into his blankets and Forrest tried very hard not to wince at his obvious discomfort.
He leaned in and kissed Alexâs other cheek. âYouâll be better in no time, with me here.â
Alex mumbled incoherently. Forrest leaned his ear close to his lips. âWhat was that?â
        âMânot sick.â
Forrest burst into laughter, falling against the couch and hugging Alex closely as he pressed his head deeper into the airmanâs stomach. âIs this what itâs going to be like for the rest of our lives? Youâre just going to ignore the blatantly obvious even if it kills you?â
Alex said nothing a moment, and Forrest feared he had gone too far. After all, they had never really talked about being together forever or what kind of relationship this was, but⊠Forrest couldnât help it. He couldnât imagine himself ever being with anyone else, and try as he might to deny it, there was only so long one could last without admitting the truth; there was no moving on after Alex Manes.
He didnât even want to find anyone else, and while he hadnât expected to fall this hard and this quickly for the airman, he didnât think heâd ever be able to bear it if Alex decided to end things. Maybe, Forrest feared, he was considering it now.
âYou knew what you were signing up for,â Alex suddenly grumbled as if just gaining the strength for it.
Forrest turned to rest his cheek on Alexâs waist, one hand on the back of Alexâs knees, the other on the top of his head, his fingers raking through the soft brown strands.
âI didnât,â Forrest said. âIâm so confused. Everyone said youâd be a breeze to deal with.â
Alex laughed hoarsely, turning to stuff his face in the couch cushions. âYouâre lying.â
        âIâm not.â
âYes, you are,â Alex smiled, and Forrestâs heart leapt.
âFine, Iâm lying,â Forrest said. âBut I donât care, because I love you. And Iâm willing to put up with you for as long as youâll have me.â
Alex scoffed faintly. âYou want out of this, youâll have to dump me, because Iâm never breaking up with you.â
Forrest swallowed the lump in his throat and tried to will down the blush in his cheeks, but he couldnât manage it. âYeah?â
âYeah. Never,â Alexâs words turned to a mutter, his eyes fluttering shut. âNever, never, neverâŠ.â
Forrest watched the airman until he drifted off to sleep, his cheeks and nose rosy from the fever, his lips turned to a cute pout, his long lashes curled and his exposed hand shivering. Forrest finally pulled back and kissed the airmanâs fingers before covering them up with the blanket as well. He checked the thermometer and found the temperature had indeed risen another degree.
He brought another few blankets and tucked Alex in tightly. He dipped the cold rag in ice water again, wrung it out, and covered Alexâs forehead with it before he kissed Alexâs cheek softly and went to the kitchen to make him some soup. As it simmered, he came back to check on Alex and found Buffy had curled on top of him, as if trying to warm him the only way she knew how.
âHeâs safe with us, isnât he?â Forrest said softly to Buffy as he crouched beside Alex, his hand scratching behind the beagleâs ear, his eyes on his boyfriend. Forrest leaned forward with a sigh, his eyes fluttering shut as he pressed his and Alexâs foreheads together.
        âYeah, heâs safe with us.â
