Makita discovered the joy of the sprinklers.
Love this pup! Not quite 5 months but quite the big girl!
Hello hello
More selfie attempts
Her better-to-eat-you-with teeth are coming.
My First 30 Days with a Giant!
lessons learned:
-BEWARE THE WET BEARD!
-I didn’t need half the crap I bought before she got here
-#1 best investment = the 7.0 cu freezer chest
-#2 next best investment = the 5x5x5 Gazebo
-BEWARE THE WET LEGS!
-It is very difficult to wrap ears alone
-It is very difficult to get a selfie with a 4 ½ -month-old puppy
-“She doesn’t get her brain until she’s how old?”
-Puppy heads are HARD! Move quickly or else you too will sport a bloody lip!
-BEWARE THE RAW-FEEDING BEARD!
-It took a hot-minute for the giant puppy and pack of small dogs to learn how to play together.
-She has a fantastic nubbin’ tail and can exceed 20 mph when it’s waggin!
-She has wonderful ears that when wrapped, can poke the hell out of your eyes!
-The nickname “Moose” fits just fine.
-New house rule: “If there is a Moose about to charge me, ESPECIALLY if it has a wet ANYTHING, you must forewarn the unsuspecting individual!”
- I can still outrun her but only because she lets me win.
-She is still not in control of her own legs; they each have separate brains and seldom on the same page, step or pavement.
-She walks on the top of my feet while I get to use the bottom.
-Throw that well-intentioned training schedule out the window; let the pup dictate the pace.
-Small pups realizing, a giant puppy is pretty fun play time!
-GIANT SCHNAUZERS ARE AWESOME!

I submitted one of Makita's pictures today!
Since day one, Makita sits behind me, always touching butt-to-butt; in the park or on the deck, she’s got my back! Loving this girl! (Oh my! I just realized how much bigger she is in the 3-4 weeks since I took the other pictures! Lol. Whose idea was it to get a GIANT breed? Hehe THIS girl! Love it! Grow Kitty-Kitty, grow! Oh shit. Why do I feel just like that moment before you get on the roller-coaster or death-drop rides?)
A beef - bone breakfast!
One Month!!
Makita has been here for one month. I still hand feed her almost every meal but I’ll be pulling back on that now. We’ve got 129lbs. of meat coming (w/ co-op, it only cost $89 for the meat.) She still does not have free roam of the house but we’ve started showing her the house rules. I’ve been keeping up on my homework from Petr (K-9 Specialists) and I’ve loved the difference in our puppy - owner relationship. He’s a fabulous trainer.
Sweet-face!
AKA Skansen's November Reign! Catching up on her new blog!
