I know this is a dumb question but is Penn seen as a prestigious university? I love it so much but it feel like it would get really frustrating having people mix it up with Penn State.

Depression at Penn...is a real issue. I felt most depressed senior year after study abroad.
How many lives will it take for the school to realize that it cannot continue as it is? Such a beautiful person lost...for no reason at all.

How are the dorms and social life on campus ?
Dorms are average.Social life is known to be high, esp if you're in a frat or sorority. People come from other schools for Penn's Fling Weekend....yeah
Is it worth going out of state to attend this university ? I know it's prestigious but the amount of money it'll cost is what I worry about
Apply, see what kind of aid package they give and what types of scholarships you can get. If you can't cover most of it, please go to a cheaper school. Grad school will be more worth the expense, I promise.

Yes, definitely study abroad. It'll change your life if you let it.I think a semester is perfect timing but a year can be good also if you really want to be immersed. Just plan well ahead of time.
What makes upenn hard? In short what is it about penn that makes it almost impossible to academically excel. The workload? The material? The professors? The environment? The people? I just hear people complain about the Ivy League so much but at the same time praise it so as a rising junior I'm questioning if I should attend such a prestigious university.
It's the no fucks given atmosphere bout whether or how you survive. It's also the uneven playing field and the pace at which things move. No Ivy needs to be impossible but they like to pride themselves on this, unfortunately.
Hi ! So I'm a rising junior in high school and UPenn is one of my top schools :) Is it possible to be admitted as undecided or do you need to choose a school in your application? I'm just struggling with choosing a major that I'm interested but also competitive for the real world So I guess my question is .... Is Marketing and Communications or Journalism a better fit for someone who likes to read/ write and work with others Or should I just go with a English major and see how it goes ?
I think you should go with what you actually think you'll enjoy more. Your chances of getting a practical job will depend more on your research and efforts than on your major. Perhaps go with communication or journalism. Marketing I'm not sure it has what you're seeking. And English may be too broad. You'll have time to explore.
How often does class at upenn get cancelled due to severe weather conditions

Yes, they definitely do haze. Most of Penn's organizations haze in some way unfortunately.
Hey! So I'm sure that Penn gives loads of work (or I'm assuming so). I'm only in high school, but it seems that I'm up everyday doing homework until around 2-4 am and I need to be up at 6 for school again. In exhausted yet I don't really procrastinate. I'm sure your workload of course is much larger than mine though, so I was wondering what tips do you have on doing your work in an efficient manner? I can't stay up this late much longer
Yeah that's a tricky scenario. My advice would be:1) try to start working earlier 2) take a one hour nap if you need to after school 3) if you're struggling with the material see if you can do it with a friend so yeah spend less time on it 4) try to do some work in advance over the weekend 5) discuss with your professors whether there's a way to shift the work load or reduce it a bitBesides that, just prioritize the hardest or easiest classes and let the rest go. Everything can't be important all the time.

Do you know if the sororities and fraternities haze? If so, can you name a few sororities that don't?
Apologies for the late answer! Since I graduated I started working and the working world is...brutal hahaI wasn't part of sororities or fraternities. But I'm pretty sure 97.8% do haze so just...accept that as part of the process at Penn. Some are just lighter processes than others and once on campus it'll be obvious.

Those sound great! Sports weren't my thing either so don't worry too much about it. As long as you enjoyed the ECs you did, that's all that matters.
Looking back now, would you still go to Penn?
Looking back, I would not go because I realise now that I don't want to be in banking or cut throat business. I'd have gone to a more friendly business school like Notre Dame :) But that's just me.
Wharton free printing credits means don't bother buying a printer if you'll be in Wharton.
