im literally annoyed about season three of gossip girl serena has so much screen time and an abundance of stupid plots why are the writers trying so hard to convince me shes interesting or has a personality instead of writing her better/finding a compelling actress to play her

how don draper would periodically lecture clients about how his creative employees shouldn’t be rushed because generating truly creative ideas takes time and outwardly looks “unproductive” but then always inevitably fell prey to the pressures of crunch time himself no matter how difficult his personal circumstances became e.g. the night he was supposed to come up with a pitch for samsonite and while he was brutalizing himself trying to come up with a good idea he got the phone call that anna had died and he disintegrated into a weeping shell of himself and somehow still by the morning had put on a fresh shirt and drawn up a pitch for samsonite… capitalism is destroying his ability to be human and create art he’s proud of but at the same time his art IS capitalism… the ouroboros…
