hot take regarding the leaks : pantalone actually should stay unplayable, or at least become playable nearing the end of snezhnaya’s arc, since it would be better for his character development. let me explain myself

the key aspect of pantalone’s character is that despite his connections, power and diplomacy, he never had elemental powers and is not a good fighter overall. it makes his growth and road to success more meaningful, since he did all that without additional help from elemental powers. he is a mere human, a survivor. his hatred towards gods is explainable - he never received any help from them (like a vision) in his whole life, even when he needed it. and if he becomes playable, he will inevitably have elemental abilities, because i doubt hoyo will ever make a full-physical character. and that’s just a spit in the face for his current character.

i believe that he CAN become playable without harming his development if :

he uses an artificial analogue of a vision, like a delusion

he actually has a fulfilling character arc that leads to him getting a vision

and if the second one will be true, pantalone should not become playable anytime soon, since his arc just begun, and it should take a reasonably long amount of time for him to grow as a character.
