Not weird at all how despite everyone stating they only eat meat from organic free range local and humanely raised animals, they still tell you veganism is expensive and classist.
Not weird either how despite everyone saying they barely eat any meat, they will say it's too difficult to cook vegan and that it's so difficult to get nutrients from plants.
Super normal how everyone is against factory farming, yet they eat animal products from restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, and takeout almost daily without ever caring to find out where those things come from.
Definitely not weird at all the way everyone claims to know better than vegans and to be against factory farming and animal abuse, yet the only time a post containing the words "animal rights" or "vegan" in this site ever makes the rounds it's because its calling vegans stupid, classist, or whatever other buzzword.
All very normal, consistent, not-weird-at-all behaviour, yea.

Veganism isn’t extreme.
What’s extreme is breeding billions of animals to kill them.
i wish i could experience the love i give
part of me understands tumblr's hestitancy to unpack their biases regarding animal agriculture. it is painful to realize how much suffering is all around. it is soul-crushing to have contributed to it. so many animals are getting harmed and killed every day. it's overwhelming, and it's natural to want to close your eyes to that. but you can change your behaviour! you can take direct action! you can stop feeling guilty! you can choose whether you want to continue to contribute or not! and trust me, it is so so liberating to do so
not to be vegan but i don't think dead animals should be used as decor
her voice was as silky as silken tofu. but her words were as firm as extra firm tofu
The only regret that I have with going vegan is that I did not do it sooner.
calling animals "high quality" is so strange to me. whether it's because someone wants to eat them or own them it's just so weird.
my dog isn't high quality he's my best friend and my baby. the cow someone wants to eat isn't high quality it's just a nice cow (that should get to live their life btw)
the language around the commodification of animals will always have me raising my eyebrow

"But sheep NEED to be shorn" my brother in christ humans bred them that way we aren't simply doing them a favor, and abuse and exploitation don't end at "killing for food."

Change For All Life
Last week, a police officer intentionally ran over a runaway calf rather than tranquilise her. This petition is for her to get to live out her life in a sanctuary, rather than ending up in the slaughterhouse.
