At the midnight prerelease. First time for me.

Ideas, ideas... I am working on a red/black deck. This is kind of the core of what I am looking to do. My opponents take damage when theu draw or discard. Then make them draw and discard. I am sure this has been done a million times before, but this is really one of my first ventures into a deck truly based around black.

What’s wrong with netdecking? If you want to win, why wouldn’t you play the best decks? I don’t understand what some people’s problems with netdecking is.

Seeing a cool deck and copying it is one thing. Taking ideas you like and building around it is another. I like coming up with ideas on my own, but I will take ideas I like and build around it to make something I like.

Combo of the Day: I mentioned this combo the other day. If you’re running a 60 card Mill deck, this is the combo for you. It’s not infinite or anything, but you can surprise mill them with anywhere between 13 and 52 cards AND destroy their fancy non-basic  land in the process.

I played my artifact deck last night. I didn't even realize that with 2 artifacts in hand plus Voltaic Construct and Metalworker meant infinite mana. Then with my well of knowledge, I drew most of my deck and played 3 mirrorworks. Then I played 4 Colossus of Akros. With 3 mirrorworks, that gave me 16 Colossus. Then I played their monstrosity cost. Next turn I attacked with 16 - 20/20 tramplers. That was fun!

There’s a chance that these recent filings for trademarks are indeed the set names of the very next block this fall.  The TM for ‘Magic Origins’ just filed yesterday may be the next ‘From the Vault’ installment.  Speculate away!
