@mtgaddicted
This is the most real MTG post of all time cause I'll give you one guess which of these two cards was an absolute menace in standard and had to be banned and which one hasn't seen any play since getting reprinted
Progenitus: Overcosted beef that's hard to get rid of.
Heartfire Hero: "Any objections if we make strictly better Rabid Wombat that can also explode and kill everyone? Really? No-one? Okay!"
The Standard bans were such a sigh of relief for me. Feels like I can actually breathe at least a LITTLE bit in standard now.

ngl, this is a mechanic I really want to see back
Who/is there a mtg equivalent of Ronald Regan
(As in someone who fucked everything up and every issue leads back to in the lore)
Magic the Gathering tip:
Would you let She-Hulk convince you to play mono-green
but I already have a few mono green decks 👀
MTG players:
how are you feeling about the WOTC acquisition of the Commander format?

me waiting for fans to rage even harder and call for the rc's reinstatement after wotc makes one unpopular ban
A statement on Commander and our vision for the future of the format.
I haven't spoken of Last Week's Commander bans for good reason. It quickly turned toxic to the point no discussion could be had. I was busy trying to put out fires on Facebook and Tiktok about the topic to speak about it here but here is a summary of my take quickly:
Last Monday 4 cards were banned in Commander, the most played format, after 3 years of no bans. Mana Crypt ($120+), Nadu Winged Wisdom ($2), Dockside Extortionist ($80 ish), and Jewelled Lotus ($90+) all banned.
People got mad so many of their high value cards got banned. They lashed out, blamed everyone and got many people on the Commander Rules Advisory to quit.
Commander bans were not controlled by Magic's Developer, Wizards of the Coast. Commander has been a community ran format forever. The bans are made by a rules committee
Now that is no more. Because players were so toxic, the Rules Committee gave over the most popular format's control to Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. This was a format by the players, for the players. Now that a corporation has control, and said corporation has shown in the past that they will sacrifice formats long term health for short term profit, things can easily get hairy. I hate how we lost control of a format because people got toxic.
tbh, I thinl today ia the day Commander died. Sure, it will keep existing, but knowing how wizards do things, they'll use this to milk every possible cent out of players now. Prepare yourselves to see more broken cards like jeweled lotus and dockside in new products but that can only be legal in the higer tiers... I'm even foreseeing even MORE commander precons per set, like 2 or 3 per tier each set release...
Finding out Olivia Gobert-Hicks has been receiving the worst of the backlash from the most recent commander bans even though she was apparently the only disenting voice is just. I mean I'd say it's suprising, but it's not. Cause like. It's misogyny. It's a problem that has existed in the Magic community for ages and has onces more revealed its ugly head. It's the misogyny. The misogyny that has existed in this—and many other 'nerd' spaces—for years. And it's just... really, really sad to continuously be reminded that in spite of all this time, not much progress has really substantially been made.
Here's the list of all the cards.
Ok, I have this for sale... in case anyone's interested
Do any of you know a good way (that is not selling to a LGS) to sell a magic collection?
I'm selling mine, but i have no idea where I can do that, and since it's expensive, it's hard to get it sold to regular people... :/
And yeah, LGSs here won't help either, last time a guy from a LGS was offering me like 20% for it... no fucking way.... I had to travel like 1.5 hours to get there for 20%... insane
Selling in bulk is always going to give you a low rate for your cards. Card Conduit will also buy in bulk, not sure what their pricing is but I assume it's a low percentage. Maybe if it's not too much trouble, you could sell your expensive cards individually on TCGplayer and then sell the rest in bulk to your LGS?
Sadly, since I'm from Costa Rica, trying to sell stuff is more complicated. I was thinking maybe selling it on ebay, but idk... 😩
