There are days when I can't find anything, beautiful or weird, and other days, I find so much, I don't know what to post next. I can't understand the fuss about this house- they listed it before it officially hit the market, saying "Coming Soon." Whoopdee Doo. Okay, the exterior is interesting, but I hope the buyers like tile.
I would probably keep the exterior, b/c it's so well done and unique, but I would do something different with the front door and repaint the beige trim. 1911 home in Minneapolis, MN, 4bds, 2ba, 1,329sqft, $155k (it's a fixer-upper, of sorts.)
I would also insist that the artist finish the side.
So, this small room looks like a former porch from the outside, and now it's called a foyer. (Uhhh, no.) I guess it will need a new window. The current owners are messy, but we'll look past that. What concerns me is their feckless use of tile.
They've put in new flooring, the bare walls look like they have new wallboard, but then there's more tile.
Even. On. The. Ceiling. Interesting feature, the inset area with glass block windows.
This is a large dining/kitchen area.
They sprung for marble counters, or it could be Contact paper, and Shaker style cabinets. They can be stained another color or even painted, if the new owner doesn't like them. There's some construction weirdness going on, though. And, of course, more tile.
Okay, tile in the bath where it belongs, but they really should've trimmed out that shelving with border tile, and they're using floor tile on the walls.
Bedroom- tile on the walls and ceiling. I get it, the kids are sloppy and tile is easier to clean, but geez.
Oh, now wait a minute. Who broke the damned tile on the lower left wall? That is uncalled for. I guess it makes it quicker to remove, though. What's up w/the Princess & the Pea bed?
Bath #2 is kind of an awkward design. Look at the teeny peep hole of a window. So, this looks like they used some sort of faux tile sheeting material on the walls in here.
It's a big space, but I feel like they could've designed it better.
I guess you can say that the basement has some potential. There's tile coming down the stairs.
There're laundry hook-ups & a sink. Maybe they were going to do something with this and started demoing the walls?
I don't care if it's covered in snow, this stuff has to go.
Don't know how, but I recognized this house! That's a good price for Minneapolis, and it looks like there's already an offer. That's probably why they're teasing it like that. You be hard-pressed to find a standalone house in that neighborhood for under 250k.
A DEA officer stopped at our farm yesterday. “I need to inspect your farm for illegal growing drugs.”
I said, “Okay, but don’t go in that field over there.”
The DEA officer verbally exploded, saying, “Mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!” Reaching into his back pocket, the officer pulled out his badge and shoved it in my face. “See this fucking badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish… on ANY land! No questions asked or answers given! Do I make myself clear? Do you understand?”
I nodded politely, apologized, and went about my chores. A short time later, I heard loud screams, looked up, and saw the DEA officer running for his life, being chased by my big old mean bull! With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer and it seemed likely that he’d get gored before reaching safety. The officer was clearly terrified.
So, I threw down my tools, ran to the fence, and shouted at the top of my lungs.
A reference for writers. If this enables one more sentence of chubby fic, my job is done.
