What was it like growing up with extremely christian parents?
miserable.
we weren't necessarily one denomination which made it slightly easier than some of my friends had it.
You know those kids who grew up with really boring parents so now they have like crazy and fun houses and lifestyles? I'm somewhere on the opposite of that spectrum.
My parents hung up more paintings of bible stories than of me and my siblings. we had a couple pictures near the fireplace then the rest of the house was filled with marys and jesus-es and moses-es and stuff.
Now I'm super atheist and I've been no contact with my parents for 7 years. yay.
if you're asking about specific experiences well my parents used to take me to church and activities and youth group and only let me join christian youth clubs and stuff. i came out to them as lgbtq when i was 10 and they sent me to christian camp and snitched on me to some elders.
All in all it was a nightmare and I deeply resent my mother especially because she was just a very bad person. 'oh but pomni she had her own trauma!' blah blah blah she was verbally abusive and neglectful and disgusting i really could not give two ▇▇s if she was treated the same as a kid.
which, she wasn't by the way. my nana and grandpa were great people and she just learned that from ▇▇ knows where.
my nana was mildly christian and she came to church with us on sundays but overall she was just the kindest sweetest person on the face of the planet.
unlike my mother she embraced who she was and didn't try to be the perfect hetero▇▇ual cisgender american white woman.
"Kinger! Kinger look!" Pomni shouted from across the circus's main area. She ran over cupping something in her hands.
"I found a bug!" She opened her hands and it was in fact a bug in her hands.

Kinger gasped, looking off to the side quite literally the opposite of where Pomni stands. "WHERE?" he asked, excitedly. When he realised Pomni wasn't exactly there, he turned around in search for her, his eyes lighting up when he actually did spot her.
He shuffled towards her, bending down, eyes wide and lucid. His eyes went from her face to her palm. "Wow! You caught an adorable one. It looks a little like Jax! Say, an anon did gift me one that looked like Jax... Those things are quite venomous..."
"Precisely! Had it been a little more purple then I don't think there had been a way of knowing if it was a big or Jax."
... Well, there's a lot of differences between a bug and a literal member of the circus. But who knows what kinger is ever going on about?
Kinger picked up the little bug, very gentle with the little thing, shuffling off to the place where his carnivorous bugs are encased. Ever since the kind people of the internets gave him a surplus of diverse bugs, he had to keep the harmless and the harmful ones separate from each other.
"one of the anons gave me a centipede-like bug while poor ragatha was nearby. I had to run away real quick." He chuckled.
"Oh, no no. The anon didn't mean it I'm sure! It was honestly purely a bad coincidence."
The bug was gently placed in its home, then sealed to rejoin it's predator friends. The pawn's eyes widened with worry, glancing towards Pomni.
"What?! Some of these anons are so troublesome sometimes." He sighed, rolling his eyes. "First they wouldn't stop pestering Caine and Queenie, now these bad eggs just... Keep branching off to others! Whoever's raising these chicks should be taken away egg-rights."
