Taking compliments
(Art by chibird) The other day, while scrolling trough thousands of post in tumblr, i came up with a small picture drawn by chibird that reminds me of one of the subjects i would like to talk about. How many times have we been complimented by someone and instead of taking it as a positive thing, something that is reafirming who we are, we tend to devaluate that compliment ?
Society says that we donāt have to be narcissistc, we have to reduce our āegosā and be ānormalā [This concept is quite controversial ] . The problem comes when we tend to refuse parts of our own identity by Ā reducing itās importance. When you are good at something, and Ā someone notices it and compliments you, some people would say ā oh , itās just the usual thing, itās not so difficult to make itā . Our virtues and our deffects, the things we like to do and the things we hate, our Ā favourite food , the tv shows we dislike, the subjects we are good at and the ones that is better not to mention, defines ourselves, defines who we are. We have to be aware of that , we have to be aware of who we are, Ā reifnorce our good traits and accept the bad ones as a human beings who are not perfect, so . Resting importance to our good traits is devaluating the good things in us, instead , letās just make a simple exercise. Next time you been complimented by something , accept it! Ā Think of it as āyes iām good at it!ā Ā this will help you to define your identity, to increase your self-confidence , and to show everybody else āwho you areā. Ā
In conclusion, reinforce your good points, accept your bad ones. Youāre a human being, and as one, perfections and imperfections defines us. -By: Eulalia Adan-
omg! 3,000 notes! thank you very much everyone! Ā Iām trying to make this posts as useful Ā for everyday life as I can, so please feel free to add your opinions or ask for a specific subject!Ā

Fine
Okay, so this is one of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to human interactions. And recently it has come to mind quite a lot. So I decided to perform a simple experiment with the children & teens Iām working with, I just ask that question an try to memorize the answers.
And you know what ?almost all of them were the same, not difficult to guess:
āāFineāā
You know, I always thought that fine is a magic word, it is riddle material and now iām gonna show you why
āāWhat is the word in which one can say everything and anything at all?āā
Yeah, you got it right , fine.Ā Ā
This answer is a good foundation for the second question:
āā Howās that?āā , and I keep staring at them while they do the same in the āā she-is-crazy-or-whatāā way but i just remind silent while looking at them . Now the responses are a bit different and can be classified in 2 ways:
1.-Donāt know
2.-* shrugs *
(or both)
So it is quite curious that lots of them are not conscious about why they are feeling that way, how their body reacts , how it changes their perception. Ā But in contrast, they are expected to know how to behave in certain places, and be able to control and manage their own body and mind. And then it is my turn to ask a general question: Ā How?
Still, it looks like #1 priority in their life has to be getting good grades, it doesnāt matter what you feel, you have to get good grades. Because in the end that is the true form of happinessā¦..right?
āMental Illness Recovery Seriesā book contains 100 true life stories of people all around the world battling daily with their mental disorders. Itās an inspirational book š, that gives rise to the silenced truth of mental illness and the exhausting, but noble journey of recovery.
