Big Louie crossed the rainbow bridge. His cancer spread and it was time. Louie taught me a great deal in our short 4 years. He was the only dog I ever feared in my life and I doubted he could be rehabbed: however, after two years of he was rehabbed and became part of my pack. I adopted him knowing not doing so was a death sentence for him and I would have failed him. I could not do that. He came with cancer and a potentially dangerous dog order. More importantly he came with heart and spirit. Training was maintained and he evolved into a big goofball who loved snuggles and fleece blankets. He learned the joy of life and love while maintaining the structure of training. He tested his limits and was reminded of the limits. Training saved his life. Louie was the greatest thing that could have happened to me on my journey of becoming a trainer. My heart has lost another piece replaced by another paw print.
