The cake was…horrible to say the least. It looked more like another substance instead of a cake, especially because it had the imprint of a fist in the middle where James decided to punch it to see ‘if it was sturdy’
“Okay who’s first”
Martin said, everyone holding their little hear me out cutouts, each one stuck onto a toothpick. Martin and Keonho already couldn’t stop smiling, trying not to laugh and it hadn’t even started yet.
“I’ll go”
Juhoon said, putting on the nonchalant act as he walked up to the front.
“Hear me out, tres leches cake.”
Everyone looked at him for a second, before arguing almost immediately erupted but it was just everyone yelling out a comment.
“That’s food?!!-“
“That doesn’t even count”
“Okay Juhoon with his nonch ass”
“OKAY NEXT”
Martin blurted, hitting his hip against Juhoon’s to push him out the frame.
Juhoon had gone flying into James, making Seonghyeon burst out laughing.
“Okay hear me out..miss frizzle from the magic school bus”
“Whaaatt?” Keonho said with a brow raise
“No I get it bro” James said, dapping Martin.
“Okay I’m next, hi everyone it’s James and hear me-“
“You didn’t have to introduce yourself dumb fuck” Keonho said, a little sassy but clearly teasing given he was smiling ear to ear.
“Excuse me?” James said, already giving him a look that shut up Keonho.
“Sorry!-“
“Anyways, hear me out, the cat in the hat”
“Bro just say you’re into furries-“
The video cuts off with James about to punch Seonghyeon in the face.
“Hi we’re back.”
Juhoon says to the camera, before everyone comes back into frame with smiles that looked more forced, standing stiffly.
“Okay Seonghyeon your turn”
“Okay..hear me out.. um wait I forgot the name-“
“SEONGH-“
The scene cuts again
“Okay hear me out, Kamala Harris. Just hear me out.”
He said it with a serious look on his face as he looked back at everyone, which just made everyone laugh at him.
“Okay my turn!”
“Keonho looks way too giddy” Juhoon said while looking at Keonho move up to the front, puffing his chest out a little which just made him look giddier.
“Yeah what he smiling for”
“Can we ban the long one,”
“Hey!”
“Anyways hear me out..”
He said with a mischievous smile, slowly turning around the paper and putting it into the cake at the very front and center.
He hadn’t said the name, so everyone had stopped to get closer, squinting their eyes to see through the lens.
The realization set in at the same time for everyone while Keonho stood there smiling too proudly.
Juhoon’s eyes widened and he stepped back to laugh
James had immediately started cackling
Seonghyeon covered his mouth with his fist as he laughed
Martin’s eyes had widened as he started yelling
“THATS MY SISTER-“
A/n : Aaaand thats a wrap, my first oneshot!! Please ignore the dates and times lol but this oneshot is super cute and a little rushed since the idea just came to me randomly and I decided to do it, I hope people like this though !! And please send me any requests, I need ideas loll

Thursday 2:30 pm, December 18th
School just ended fifteen minutes ago, but the usual chaos buzzing through the halls still lingered today. Though it was expected, tomorrow is the school festival, and everyone has last minute preparations.
Every hallway smelled faintly of paint, hot glue, and cardboard. Posters leaned against lockers waiting to be hung. Someone had left a roll of caution tape in the middle of the corridor, and nobody seemed interested in figuring out who it belonged to.
By second period, the gym doors had been propped open again.
"Can somebody move these tables? They’re in the wrong spot" Martin called without looking up from the clipboard in his hands.
He was being responsible for once, but you knew it was likely due to the fact that the stress finally settled and he’s locked in.
Right after he said that three people immediately found something else to do.
You were helping Minju and Wonhee tape last minute decorations. Your gaze turning to Martin, seeing nobody offered to help move the tables.
Great.
You sighed, Wonhee and Minju could handle just fine. You put down a roll of tape, walking over to Martin.
“Which tables?”
“These four aaannddd those two should be on the other side of the gym closer to where the food stands will be”
You nodded, spotting the ones he meant.
Okay.
Moving six folding tables across a giant gymnasium.
"That's it?" you asked a bit dryly.
Martin looked up from his clipboard for half a second with a raised brow and a hint of a smile already forming on his face.
"Unless you suddenly grew four extra arms."
"...No."
"Didn't think so."
He looked around, dramatically looking like he was in deep thought. Pen near his chin, foot tapping, looking around with a look on his face that made you just raise a brow.
Typical Martin
“Oh! Hey Juhoon!!” Martin called, suddenly waving down the boy who had just walked past a few moments ago who was seemingly leaving school.
Juhoon had paused, looking over his shoulder. A small nod of his head as he walked over, hands in his pockets with a blank look on his face.
“Wassup”
“You got time? We need some tables moved”
“Yeah, I’ve got a little time.”
“Great! My buddy y/n here will help you- just don’t kill eachother!” Martin was speaking a bit too enthusiastically when he said that last part.
You raised a brow,
“We’ve interacted like twice?”
“Exactly!”
And just like that Martin was already trailing off to himself, swatting Keonho at the back of the head while walking past him, earning a weird noise out of Keonho.
You just turned back to Juhoon…awkwardness settling for a moment before you just nodded towards the tables, starting to head over. He just nodded back, walking behind you.
The first table sat folded against the wall, heavier than it looked.
You grabbed one end.
Juhoon took the other without saying anything.
"...Food stands are over there," you said, nodding toward the opposite side of the gym.
"I figured."
You gave a small hum, mostly because you weren't sure what else to say.
"Ready?"
"Yeah."
On three, you lifted.
The legs scraped against the floor for half a second before the table cleared it completely.
Students drifted around the gym in every direction. Someone hurried past carrying a stack of cardboard signs taller than they were. Near the stage, Wonhee was unsuccessfully trying to convince Minju that one side of a banner was noticeably lower than the other.
"It is crooked."
"It's literally not."
"It is."
You heard them continue arguing as you and Juhoon maneuvered around a cluster of paint buckets.
The silence between you wasn't uncomfortable exactly.
Just...
Empty.
Not the kind that begged to be filled.
You adjusted your grip.
"Here?" he asked.
You looked toward the taped-off area where the food booths were being assembled.
"...Maybe another foot?"
Without another word, he shifted his end slightly, matching where you nudged yours until the table lined up with the others.
"There."
You stepped back.
"...Looks straight enough."
"It'll be covered with tablecloths tomorrow anyway."
"True."
You headed back for the second table.
Halfway across the gym, Martin's voice echoed from somewhere near the stage.
"Who moved my markers?"
"I didn't touch your markers!"
"Then why are they gone?"
"Maybe because you left them literally anywhere."
You exchanged a brief glance with Juhoon.
"...He's gonna lose it by five," you said.
"He won't make it to five."
"...Four thirty?"
"Thats generous."
You let out a quiet laugh before you could stop yourself.
It wasn't loud, barely more than a breath, but enough that it surprised even you.
Juhoon's expression didn't change much, though the corner of his mouth twitched for just a second before he reached the next table.
“He’ll start yelling soon.” Juhoon said flatly as both of you picked up each side of the second table.
“I’m bracing for it”
You almost smiled, glancing down at your footing to not look directly at Juhoon.
For a moment, the awkwardness that had followed you since Monday felt lighter.
For the rest of the tables, neither of you had much to say.
But the silence didn’t need filling.
Just two people who are similar in that way.
A/n : Sorry these have been lowk filler episodes but it'll get good trust !!

Wednesday 8:31 am, December 17th
By Wednesday morning most of the festival preps were done. Everyone was excited, people were talking, and there was energy buzzing in the air.
By first period Wonhee managed to somehow find you in the crowded halls before you barely stepped out of your classroom.
The conversation was confusing to say the least. It went something like this,
“Y/n! Hi- oh my gosh I love your outfit, anyways did you and Juhoon talk on monday? People said you two were like in the office together or something”
You just stared at her for a moment, your brows almost furrowing in slight confusion. Who even saw-
“Yeah he just showed me where the bandaids were”
Okay maybe that was hiding a bit of the truth. But saying too much when Wonhee was buzzing with energy wasn’t smart, as much as you loved her and her goofy self.
“Oh that's nice of him!” And then she yapped for the rest of those five minutes as you walked through the halls.
You thought nothing of it…
But when it goes from “Y/n and Juhoon in the gym office together”
It somehow turns very fast into, “I heard Hyuna got mad”
Nobody actually thinks anything happened with you and Juhoon, it's just high school gossip to entertain everyone.
But the attention was a little annoying when you already had enough to deal with as the person basically holding the student council together.
The rest of the morning passed in a blur.
If anyone whispered your name when you walked by, you didn't notice. Or maybe you just chose not to.
By the time lunch rolled around, your notebook was already filled with things to cross off as you stood in a hallway outside the student council room with the rest of the student council.
Festival Last Minute Preps Done by Y/n
Check sound equipment.
Confirm booth assignments.
Pick up extra paint.
Find out why the sophomore class somehow lost an entire box of extension cords.
"...How do you lose extension cords?" you muttered under your breath.
"You'd be surprised actually" Minju answered without looking up from the seating chart for an upcoming educational-related event spread across the student council table. Something unrelated to the festival, but still important to get done. "Last year someone misplaced half the chairs."
"Misplaced chairs?"
You had heard about that, given you've been on the council since freshman year, but you weren't really super involved until this year, so you didn't know if it was actually true or not.
"They ended up behind the baseball shed."
"...Okay..I don't even want to know"
The room buzzed with overlapping conversations and energy, paper shuffling across the tables as everyone hurried through the last round of preparations before Friday’s festival.
Martin was stood stretching to tape another schedule onto the bulletin board you all had, his armspan being basically the length of the bulletin board thanks to his overwhelming height.
"Who has the updated schedule for the festival?"
"I gave it to Yunah."
"No, you gave me the old one."
"I definitely didn't."
"You definitely did."
Across the room, Wonhee was on the floor with Kya trying and failing to fold paper cranes for one of the booths.
"They're supposed to look like birds"
"They look like potatoes." Kya said with a mischievous smile already forming on her face thanks to her teasing.
"They have personality."
"They have... something."
Laughter broke out around the room, cutting through the tension that had been building all week.
You let yourself smile, shaking your head as you scribbled another note into your planner.
Everything would turn out great if things went to plan
"Y/n."
You looked up from what you were writing
James was standing in the doorway, one hand tucked into his pocket, looking nonchalant as ever.
"The gym committee needs someone to approve where they're setting up the festival basketball tournament”
"...Now?"
"They're arguing over whether to scoot it two feet next to the photo booth or next to the bleachers."
You sighed dramatically, closing your planner.
"Of course they are"
A/n: I'm back !! Short chapter to get started cus I sort of lost all my ideas but ill be back with lots of chapters soon and maybe a second fic or some oneshots idk

Monday 3:42 pm, December 15th
You sighed, standing up with your clipboard still in hand, pen clicking shut. Scanning the gymnasium to make sure things were running smoothly.
Well
As smooth as they could be when Martin and Wonhee were paired together, when they're together it turns more into a zoo than student council duty.
"Y/n!" Kya called out from the other side of the gym.
You made your way over, kneeling down to check her work with the poster she was working on with Minju. She just asked you a simple question, where I wanted certain things glued, what else it was missing. You just answered, hand going to a paper letter that was cut out to gesture at it, your pointer finger slipping and getting a paper cut you barely even noticed from being so focused. Kya didn't notice either, too busy lasering in on what you had to say, nodding along.
You stood, already hearing the doors open a few feet behind you and a few pairs of footsteps.
Voices.
"Why do we have to do this?"
"Stop complaining."
"You literally complain every day"
A few guys from basketball walked in with a few carrying boxes. You counted heads, Keonho who wasn't even apart of the basketball team, James, Juhoon, and Seonghyeon were carrying boxes, Minjae, Dohyun, Jiho, Yejun, Sunwoo, Jisung, and two other guys you weren't familiar with by name just walked in alongside them like a big pack.
The gym almost immediately felt a bit louder.
Not because there were that many people.
Just because basketball players had some strange ability to feel free to take up twice the space of everyone else. It wasn't arrogance- atleast not from most of them, but it was some sort of natural dynamic with athletes.
"Why is the student council making us work?" Sunwoo complained dramatically, dragging his feet behind everyone.
"We're not making you work, you literally agreed!" Wonhee called from halfway up a ladder with Martin supposedly watching and holding the ladder for her, her words making Sunwoo and Jiho groan in unison.
"Careful with those boxes," Martin said, suddenly appearing out of nowhere and pointing around like some manager that had no idea what he was doing. "Those have decorations- I think!"
James stared at him.
"...You don't know what's inside these boxes, do you?"
Martin looked offended with a hand on his chest as if he were wounded.
"I literally packed them."
"Then why'd you say I think earlier?"
"...Next question."
He said defeated, walking back to Wonhee who was yelling about something- something about how she could've died, making Martin laugh way too loud as he grabbed the ladder for her again.
You looked down at your clipboard, quickly writing attendance notes and checking off the boxes that arrived.

Find extentions cords in the storage rooms for lights
Someone moved paint supplies to the third floor
Ask basketball team to move stage platforms
Why are they so loud ???
Around you, shoes squeaked against the gym floor while voices mixed together. Some people were setting boxes down while others immediately wandered off doing absolutely nothing useful.
You were still writing when someone stopped next to you.
"Your fingers bleeding Y/n."
You blinked
"Hm?" You looked up, pen paused mid writing, a polite hum as you leaned your head just slightly forward to hear him better. Juhoon was what you found standing a few feet beside you but facing you entirely, holding a box of tape he had found. Your mind already subconsciously checking that off, not even questioning who told him to grab tape. Atleast some of them were being useful, your eyes drifting away from the box and back up at him.
Blank expression as always.
Hands in his hoodie pockets.
His eyes moved from your face down to your hand.
Only then did you notice the thin red line near your finger where the paper had cut you earlier.
"Oh"
You stared at it for a second.
"You got blood on the pen."
Thanks captain obvious. You just set down the white pen, about to look around for a napkin or a bandaid but he was already on it, nodding for you to come with him.
"What?", you asked, looking at the back of his head as you followed, your brows furrowed just a fraction. You didn't really have time for this.
"Theres a first aid kit in the office" he said, already pointing out the small office next to the storage room. You almost protested and said we didn't have the keys but paused when you looked down at the lanyard you wore around your neck.
Right, they gave you access to that office and the storage rooms around the school for this.
You two made your way over there, as he slightly nodded in the direction of the door. Gesture to open it. You grabbed it and took it off from around your neck with your hand that had a cut, just avoiding using your pointer finger as you struggled a little to open it.
"You're clumsy."
He pointed out, almost too bluntly, taking the keys from you. Not harshly, in fact he was sort of gentle. You just let him, not saying anything back other than giving him a small side eyed glance.
Once he pushed the door open he found the first aid kit in one of the drawers of the office, pulling out an alcohol pad and a box of bandaids. Pink, hello kitty bandaids that I could already assume Mr.Robinson bought for the girls since he was a very sweet and thoughtful old little guy.
"Give me your hand"
Right. Blunt and straight to the point.
Nobody was close enough to peer inside and be nosy and you wanted to hurry up, so you just outstretched your hand, palm up, finger still slightly bleeding. He opened the packet, cleaning your finger and then grabbing your pen and cleaning it, setting it right back down in the same spot on the clipboard you held in your other hand. The sting made you cringe, he barely reacted other than sparing you a single glance before looking right back down, grabbing a box of bandaids.
It wasn't the typical brown bandaid that pre-came in the first aid kit. It came in one of those boxes that you'd buy at walgreens, pink box with hello kitty on it.
He opened it, put a pink hello kitty bandaid around your finger with no reaction.
While you're brain was processing- actually short circuiting just a little, you blankly stared at his hands put the first aid kit back. Your own hand coming back down to your side.
"Thanks"
You said, glancing up but quickly looking back at your clipboard.
He just hummed in response, waiting for you to exit the room first. You did, waiting for him to come out to lock it yourself this time, putting the lanyard back over your head.
"So where should I put the tape."
You paused, thinking for a moment
"Give a few rolls to Martin and Wonhee, and give some to Minju and Moka"
You said after a moment, turning back to him, already watching him walk away, as you went back down to your clipboard.
An uneasy feeling that you didn't like.
Not because of Juhoon, but because this could be taken the wrong way if anyone happened to see it happen or get suspicious of why we were together when we rarely talked. Especially considering whatever was going on with him and Hyuna.
To be honest, she kind of scared you a little- she had that mean girl aura certain people just naturally gave off.
You glanced down at your hand absentmindedly while walking back toward the center of the gym to check on everything and tell some of the basketball players to go fetch the cables and paint for me.
But your mind was a little distracted. Only a little, because what just happened was a surprise to you.
It would've been to anyone who isn't close to him, given how cold and quiet he seemed.
Pink.
Hello Kitty.
Sort of your vibe with the pink.
You stared at it for a few seconds.
"Y/nnie a little help!" Wonhee yelped, her and Martin somehow tangled in ribbon.
You let out a breath of a laugh, setting your clipboard down on the bleachers, walking over to the two.

Friday 2:53 pm, December 12th
Inside the buzzing room of the student council room everyone was sat on desks that were pushed into a circle. Ordinary council meeting, waiting for the one and only Martin to finally make it. And he did! Almost unfortunately
Because the door suddenly slid open and he made a dramatic entrance with a charming smile. “Sorry!- Like super sorry- I accidentally forgot about the meeting because Juhoon and James and Seonghyeon asked me to do something with them and-”, he rambled on for a bit. Everyone didn’t really pay attention to him. Past him in the halls were James and Juhoon. Bags over their shoulders, no basketball practice on fridays. They were just chatting, you just looked away, sighing a bit at Martin's late arrival as he sat down and the meeting started to discuss last minute festival details.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday 4:08 pm, December 12th
“Y/nnie! You were so quiet today- more than usual” Martin said, wrapping a casual, friendly arm over your shoulders with a big smile. You two were pretty good friends thanks to the student council.
“I just didn’t have much to say, is all” You said in that same, calm tone you always carried. Martin and you walking out of the classroom after gathering your things. You weren’t quiet when leadership skills were in place, but when you had nothing to say you could get pretty quiet.
“Okay okay understandable- hey I forgot to tell you guys during the meeting that I’m hosting a party, next weekend aaanddd you can bring anyone as long as they come to our school” He said, a little too enthusiastic for someone hosting a high school house party. But then again his parents were filthy rich from what you’d heard, so you just brushed that fact off. “Yeah sure, sounds fun just let me know where” “For sure”
The halls of the school were dim, only lit by windows that were on each side of the halls to let natural light in. The sky was dimming and it was blue hour, making the scene aesthetic in a way that you’d only notice if you romanticise every aspect of your life.
A few seconds of comfortable silence. Martin checking his phone, texting someone with a small chuckle. You were half zoned out, as you both turned the corner to get to the front doors. In the lobby of the school sat a few people still lingering past school hours. Some staff, a few teachers in the office, a few students cleaning or in detention around the halls. Then two pairs. Keonho and James who were sat on one of the benches laughing at something on James' phone, then Juhoon and Hyuna who were leaned against the wall, chatting in a way that looked a bit like arguing but quiet enough so nobody could hear. He kept that stone blank look he always had, while she had her brows furrowed and talked fast.
Juhoon and Hyuna. They had some sort of situationship going on, had for a few months now. Everyone thought they’d actually pair well. She was a popular girl, a cheerleader and she had an okay reputation. Some bullying or fake friend rumors, but she had charm that made everyone forget she was rude. While Juhoon, star basketball player and also freakishly smart, has a good reputation despite how quiet and cold he seemed. Even so, they never got official, and were on an off. Everyone assumed it was toxic but nobody knew much about how their relationship was privately.
“Keonho, James wassup” Martin said, already walking over to them, giving you a glance over his shoulder with a small wave. You just waved back curiously glancing once more at the couple arguing in the corner of the lobby, a bit nosey but not enough to eavesdrop, as you were already walking out of the doors anyway.
________________________________________________________________
Monday 3:34 pm, December 15th
The school was somehow louder than usual even if it was after school hours.
Wonhee was currently standing on a chair with tape hanging from her wrist while arguing with Martin about where decorations should go.
"No because if we put the photo booth near the entrance it'll get crowded and it’ll look weird- so the sign should go here Martin!"
"It'll look ugly in the back that's where the locker rooms are!"
"It won't look ugly!"
"It absolutely will!-"
You weren't listening anymore.
You sat cross-legged on the gymnasium floor a few feet away, checking names off a clipboard.
Volunteers. Check
Missing materials. We needed the last banner to be finished by Kya and Minju. More tape. Streamers. More fake snowflakes that were being made by Yunah right now.
Basketball team helpers.
Basketball team-
You blinked. Wait.
"...Basketball team?" you repeated quietly.
“Martin!” you called him over. He jogged over, crouching down with his forearms on his knees, already looking over your shoulder at the clipboard. “Ohh yeah! Wonhee and Yunah thought it would be a good idea to get them to help, I asked and they said sure- actually they should be here soon so just look out for them when they walk in and make sure they actually do things”
He patted your shoulder lightly, smiling before getting up and jogging right back over to Wonhee. You could already hear him starting up banter with Wonhee about the decorations again.

The student council room always smelled faintly like paint and printer ink after school.
You were currently sat inside of said room, cutting out snowflakes for the winter festival next week. It's currently Thursday, December 11th. The winter festival is December 19th.
Next to you were a few other students in the student council, Wonhee who was yapping her mouth off and talking to nobody in particular about how we should ask the principal to give us more funds for our events, to which Martin, another member of the student council, just laughed a bit too loudly but nobody minded much.
Minju sat across from you, attempting to put glitter onto posters with the most painfully focused expression imaginable while Moka and Yunah argued over whether the basketball team deserved a bigger budget than the music club.
“They literally already get enough funding to travel to games,” Yunah complained. “Why do boys with a ball need more money?”
“Because they win games,” Martin replied immediately. Defending the basketball team, because of course his friends were on the basketball team. Well only three of them. Seonghyeon, James, and Juhoon. Keonho was on the swim team, and Martin was here.
“That’s not a real answer.” Wonhee pitched in,
“It is to the principal”
The room dissolved into overlapping complaints and laughter after that.
You only half listened, focused more on cutting clean edges into the paper snowflake resting beneath your hands. Outside the windows, a few bunnies hopped past the window, your gaze traveling to the bunnies and then to the darkening sky. The school should’ve felt empty by now, but Thursdays were always loud. Club practices, sports training, student council preparations before festivals.
Lowkey I have zero ideas just a dream ❤️🩹
