Which Path Do You Choose?
Have you ever been driving home from work feeling so hungry and feeling enticed by all the restaurants you drive by? You think to yourself, “I am going to eat healthy tonight, oh...but that sounds good!” You feel yourself battling between instant gratification or going with the better and healthier option. You know in your heard and heart which is the best option is. At the time, does it matter what the healthier choose is? In your head, it doesn’t, because that instant gratification feels like an obsession or like a magnet pulling you towards that thing you crave. If you win against this it feels like you achieved such huge success!
Why is it such a battle in life to eat healthier? It is sad that it is even a problem! I mean the food that we are craving is full of junk and no real nutritional value. We have a lot more energy with the healthier foods than we do with the junk food. The only benefit we get out of the food is it takes good at the time. If you go without that junk food or cut out a huge amount of your salt intake in your eating you will soon find out that food doesn’t taste so great! My husband and I have cut our salt intake by ALOT and a lot of the food I once ate is WAY too salty for me. We have cut back for health reason, but I still don’t eat the way I should.
If you workout hard, but then eat poorly you won't lose weight! I know, because that is me. I have been working on improving my eating habits, but not working hard enough at it! I ate poorly before Zumba class and ugh that was a big mistake! I know better, but still did it! We all need to learn including myself that you can work your butt off in the gym or at Zumba, but if you aren't working just as hard in the kitchen you won't see results. Why am I telling on myself? I feel that if I don't tell people it is like a secret that destroys me by feeling like I'm getting away with something if no one knows about it. I know that I'm not hurting anyone, but myself! By telling all of you, it helps push myself to improve. Remember that at the end of the day it is up to you to truly make the right choice in life in order to achieve your goals. I've realized more and more over the last two years just how important my health is to me. We all have the chance many times to pick the path that makes you happier and healthier or just go on through life blinded by all the harm you are doing to yourself! I choose the path that allows me to achieve happiness and success with my health and family! What path will you choose?
