I’m super happy with how each piece turned out and that each character has managed to stay themselves despite being thrown into new surroundings and costumes. (My inner feminist wouldn’t allow Merida or Mulan to have their weapons taken away lol) Pocahontas still loves animals, Cinderella is still dressing tiny creatures, Tiana is cooking, and Belle fell asleep reading! I hope you enjoy the princesses you know and love, with a twist!

apparently modern medieval scholars have no solid idea why there’s so many old paintings of knights fighting snails.  Like that wasn’t just one weird painting there’s hundreds of those.

most of the paintings above where drawn by medieval monks. Under the worst of circumstances they had to copy a lot of books. So to endure the pain they used the sidelines of the tekst for drawings. One monk even drew a simple smiley in one of the books : 

it was a way for the monks to express themselves, because talking wasn’t allowed. 

the story behind the snails is that they represent nobility. who are high and dry in their little shells while the people suffer. The snail is mostly found with a desperate knight who battles the snail.

the reason why there are so many of the snail drawings is because monks had to copy the book again and again. thats also the reason behind the drawing of a nun picking penis form a tree
