egg retrieval Friday morning! this time my doctor called me tonight about 20 min before I was supposed to take the meds at 9:30pm exactly to check and reiterate our plan. and she told me who's doing my retrieval this time (her co-founder of their clinic) and overall I am feeling cautiously optimistic. at a minimum, I know what to expect in terms of the procedure and also yield.

in the last week or so, not one but THREE dudes I used to know/had hooked up with have added me on social media (fbook/insta). I haven't spoken to them in 5+ years for each of them, for one of them probably 10+ years. WHAT is in the water??????? I haven't posted anything on social media (other than Tumblr) in ages so I am truly mystified!

at the wedding I accidentally flirted too close to the sun and made one of the groomsmen fall in love with me, I realized it immediately and tried to walk it back after there was a weird interaction with him & a guy friend of mine. the guy didn't really talk to me at the goodbye brunch the next morning (which, honestly good, I was with other friends) and then 2 days later on Wednesday (the wedding was Sunday) he texted me "Good Afternoon Shira, you were on my mind. How’s your day going?" in the middle of the afternoon while I was at work and I didn't respond and have remembered about it several times and I know I SHOULD respond but I just...don't care? I'm tired, I don't know this man, at this point it feels like it would almost be more cruel to respond and then have to let him down easy. idk. a man wouldn't give it this much thought if the tables were turned.
but I don't really blame him for falling in love bc

I know I owe an update from the amazing wedding last weekend but today is the first day in 7 consecutive days I'm not spending with my new friend M* and wow how lucky am I to have such a dear college friend (E) who has other amazing friends 😊😊😊

*I met M for the first time at E's bachelorette the first weekend of May. after that 36 hrs, planning for the wedding weekend ended up with us spending 7 days straight together between the wedding and NYC after and I haven't done that with a non-family member in a million years and now I can't wait to spend more time in DC and also traveling 😊

omw to my friend's wedding for the weekend and I think the only things I forgot are my headphones and my favorite rings (so, non-essentials) so I guess all in all I'm doing OK since I packed in 90 minutes this morning and ran out the door 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I think one of my neighbors has a device that makes frequent notification sounds at a pretty high volume which are the same notification sound as a device I used to have and it's just annoying. worst part is I think it's not someone who lives in my actual building bc I can't hear a PEEP from my neighbors for the most part (guy next door is hard of hearing and watches tv SUPER LOUD). I've had my windows open basically the last 2 weeks straight but it's perplexing to think that it's someone from another building bc HOWWW would that make sense.
today is the first Manhattanhenge of the year (when the setting sun aligns perfectly with the city grid) and literally ALL TRAFFIC on those specific east/west streets is fully stopped because hundreds of ppl are standing in the street staring straight into the sun and taking pictures 😂
