snug piercing update: it's been about 5.5 months into the 12-month healing process. I can't fucking wait until I can take it out at night to sleep. I've taken the piercing out for a few hrs at a time but I'm still nervous to take it out for a full night even though the piercing hole is gigantic (relatively speaking) and it seems at low risk of closing up overnight. it got randomly infected a couple weeks ago (possibly coinciding with wildfire smoke, I'm not sure) and other miscellaneous unwell body stuff like my cycle, worst case scenario it's a fight to get the post back in but that seems counterproductive for long term healing.

UGH it's in the 70s and it's going to RAIN TODAY but because of the wildfire smoke I can't have my windows open. and I have to go to Long Island to a bridal shower in a bit and I have no fucking clue what to wear for transit and weather and smoke. jeez.
(I know I should be grateful that things are so minor here compared to the Midwest with apocalyptic AQIs, and Canada, and all the people who have lost their homes and communities...and I am grateful.)

I successfully swapped out a ceiling light fixture on my first attempt! everyone was right, it was SO EASY! I'm drunk on power and ordered a new ceiling fixture for my bedroom now!
then we strolled through Washington Square Park, saw a giant fire hydrant, and popped into the Chelsea Flea where I bought a painting with a broken frame for $50. annoying to have to buy a new frame but I like the colors and vibe. it's got great texture IRL.
