Katakuri's relationship with his family after WCI - HCs
Once the initial shock and anger wore off that Katakuri had been defeated in the first place, and the Charlotte siblings returned from chasing Straw Hat to Wano, things were...awkward.
Katakuri's outlook on life had been changed during the battle with Luffy, and he truly did want to make steps in taking back his own self-identity among his family.
That meant times where he would steel himself and go without the scarf, even in public. It wasn't often or for very long, but over time, he began getting used to the idea of letting it go.
The older Charlotte siblings (Perospero, Oven, Daifuku, Brulee, Composte, etc.) already knew of his teeth and scars. They accepted this pleasantly surprising change in their brother, and never ridiculed him for the choice.
The younger siblings were a much harder bunch to convince. Most if not all of the ones under the age of 18 screamed upon seeing him this way. It truly did hurt, but Katakuri made sure not to let it show too much.
He knew that it was a lot to take in all at once, and their younger age meant they might not understand that his physical appearance didn't make him a monster or any different from the brother they'd always known. Something he was still learning himself.
And if he could be an example to the others that they could embrace who they were without fearing retaliation? That could only be a good thing, right? Maybe it would help slowly fix some of the problems within the family.
Flampe barely spoke to him at all, and tried her hardest to not be in the same room as him. Though the verbal jabs at his appearance did stop. So too did the cameras trying to catch a glimpse of his face.
He still cared for his little sister, and hoped she would come around to accept him one day.
The longer time went on, the more it seemed the family was becoming used to this new Katakuri. The acceptance from the older siblings really helped the rest of them to overcome their unease and shock.
And once word went around as to why he kept his face hidden for so long, for the sake of his family's protection and not wanting to see any of them hurt because of him, many began treating him just like they did before, their most beloved older brother.
He still won the title of favorite brother that year.
