I was thinking about the nations' healing abilities and ik they've definitely lost a limb or two in their lifetimes.

headcanon below the cut (cw: dismemberment and decomposition talk)

there's three types of injury that can befall a nation:

an attack on the actual landmass/people = long lasting injuries, wounds eventually heal but will take a long time, and can manifest as a sickness sometimes

an attack on the personification's physical body by another personification = heals relatively quick, but has long lasting effects, and permanent scars, self inflicted wounds also belong to this category

an attack on the personification's physical body by regular humans = short term injuries, no scars, no lasting effects

resurrection is a normal occurrence too, as long as a nation is a nation, they'll be fine.

dismembered country body parts tend to decompose faster than normal, so it's best to bury it or burn it to keep diseases at bay.

the acceleration of decomposition is probably because of the nations' special property that keeps living things that's in close proximity to them most of the time semi immortal, so when a limb disconnects from the body, it essentially makes up for the time it wasn't aging.

Andor + Onion headlines, because it was either make memes or scream into the void some more.

I love how Andor avoided all the prison tropes. There was no ‘bully table’ or snitch that had it out for Cassian and the ‘loser table’. No tough prisoner our protagonist needs to beat to prove his worth. No gangs that rule the prison our prisoner either has to join or destroy. There was no one opposed to the prison break or any internal fighting amongst prisoners.

If anything I think the Empire tried to enforce this with the ranking and reward system of the tables. That way, the prisoners would be so obsessed with beating other, they would think to join together against the real enemy.

But they didn’t, they worked together and they built each other up and they focussed on one collective goal. Keno’s speech was about helping each other and lifting each other up in their time of need. Even the prisoners on other floors who didn’t know Cassian or Keno knew and understood the message.

It’s a surprisingly hopeful and uplifting way to film these prison scenes and I think it’s a testament to the powerful world and character building in Andor and it’s way of telling a truly astounding story in a way that’s different from other media.
