Royal - These are the pure blood who were born into their supernatural supremacy. This rank is often populated by those with proximity to appearing human or allows them to blend in with the world widely/mostly undetected. They essentially walk in two worlds ( human and supernatural). They are known as 'families' and separated based on ability or type. Rulers are selected by supporting nobility and while this is an elected position it can often be controlled by the interests of those beneath them, especially if they have the innfluence or finances to sway royal appointments and those who currently hold the seat. There is a ruling royal family for each pure blood accepted into the hierarchy. Ex. Vampire, Lycans, Fae, Jinn
Aristocracy - This position is held by those who have at least one pure blood parent or a direct tie to the royal stratum. Within this rank you often find supernaturals who either possess heightened abilities or latent evidence of their royal heritage. They can sometimes be referred to as halflings due to their nature. They tend to hold authority over lesser ranks that is often given to them by their royal parent. It is not uncommon to see them hold positions of influence and power within the human realm. They are often extremely attractive, charming, and intelligent. All thought to be blessings from their supernatural parent.
Noble - This position is held by those who have some latent supernatural abilities. They are often the second generation following the existence of a royal. They can also be less acclaimed/powerful supernaturals such as witches, warlocks, demons, or nephilim. (More to come). Those within this stratum often serve a key role as protection and influencers. They carry the message of the royal stratum to the human world, however, they observe what is occurring in the various families and different levels of royals, aristocrats, and nobles. They share their thoughts and advise on possible action. They are often tasked with being strategic partners, thinkers, and movers within the ranks. Those within this stratum could also be the product of a parentage of varying supernatural families/beings.
Associates - This position could be held by a human or a being with very distant supernatural beings. This designation places them above the average human. To hold a place within this stratum they or their lineage must possess influence, ability (although understood to be latent), and financial wealth. There are times when an associate title may be granted by a royal as a result of thankfulness or because they believe said family to be important some potential goal.
Human - Self explanatory. They are without distinction or a familial connection to allow for selection of the higher ranking stratums. Those within this distinction are sometimes selected as partners of comfort for high ranking stratum members. This can be as simple as friendship, trusted workers, or lovers/meals.
Unspoken - Those within this distinction are often whispered about or mentioned behind closed doors. These individuals are supernatural in natural. Often the result of an unsanctioned physical entanglement between a royal or aristocrat with a human. They may also be a human turned by a bite, attack, or an unapproved supernatural act. They are a continued and formidable threat. It was an unspoken uprising that made the stratum practices move to closed doors instead of remaining in the open.
A few notes about the stratum. This is an arcaiac and antiquated practice that while it still exists, most of those in the masses frown upon it. The stratum continues to rebuild their numbers and fortify the rules of operation. They do intend to continue to attack realms of origin in an effort to become widely known and accepted.
I also feel like those who are currently in control would be more aligned with the unspoken. Think Wei he’d be considered an unspoken. They are violent and less worried about perception and decorum.
There are also nobles and associates who secretly work with and support powerful beings who would be considered unspoken in the stratum
