how similar is sams backstory in the au to the canon? and now that we know that sam is in contact with his old healing instructor, is there a chance she might be in the story or get a cameo?

speaking of cameos, are we gonna see other shaw pack members more in depth? (is this me asking if ansel will make an appearance to join SH on their case? who knows) and is there gonna be a "major event" like the inversion or are sam and darlin the main focus throughout?

Sam's backstory is Quite similar to his canon story. There are some details in the timeline I posted, but he and Alexis did have an imbalanced relationship when he was a surgical intern and she was an attending surgeon. At a teaching hospital like Dahlia General, that essentially is a relationship between a teacher and a student. I wanted to mimic the power imbalance between vampire and mortal in that way. They do break up, there is an accident after the break up, and the "healing" (surgery) that happens after the accident takes away healing for Sam in the form of leaving him with nerve damage and a tremor in his dominant hand.

We will see the major Shaw boys, and hopefully a moment from Gregory Keaton, and Ansel will make an appearance!! It'll be a brief one, but he will be a part of the resources that gets funneled to the case later on!

Quinn is going to have a... series of escalations where he does more and more destructive things. It will essentially become a series of mini inversions where Quinn is terrorizing the 10-19. I will say, Quinn is not going to try and hurt Darlin directly again. He's smart and he knows that he can get at them more effectively by hurting the people around them. It will be fun (for me)!!!

i’m so sure marie was like their comfort adult because most of the adults in the pack at the time were quick to reprimand them when they were showing autistic traits would act out, but she would be so much more patient and understanding

their baking/cooking sessions would serve as a time to de-stress while the others would play around outside. teen!darlin was able to talk about how much they’d been struggling and marie would give genuinely life-changing advice

they were so mad at themselves for that period of time where the two drifted (as they fell into kinda messed-up crowds) but marie welcomed them back with open arms. they always reminisce about her so fondly to sam

honestly i think if they came home to marie with sam and she didn’t approve (but she defo does), he would’ve been kicked to the curb /hj/lh
