My heart hurts so much.
I wish I could explain it properly but today I feel ANGRY at the world.
I donāt have much time to update this now days but god isnāt this world god damn crazy?
We have all the boys home all the time, B is working from home, I have spent the past couple of months working on a covid ward as my ward turned āRedā and now spend half the time on a āgreenā ward (which doesnāt mean no covid...just less chance š we still have to wear masks the whole time).
The kids are adjusting. Home schooling is HARD. I donāt try to do much, Iām trying to focus mainly on life skills and basic survival of the family š we are doing okay most days though if the baby (Now 17 months) could sleep that would help a lot... he teased us with 3 nights of full sleep a couple of weeks ago and is back to punishing us now haha. š I am still feeding so the nights tend to fall to me and B gets up at 5:30 with the boys and does till 8 and then he works and I get up. But anyway, we managed to go to the beach yesterday as some of our lockdown restrictions have lifted slightly and it was wonderful. 2 months without going anywhere is so hard with kids that are so used to being it and busy! This has certainly taught us all how to slow down. We were all SO happy to be back by the sea and have some space for an hour!
N and F are mainly getting on pretty well now, bonding over Minecraft has helped a lot, listening to audiobooks and they play Minecraft and d&d with Brett too. I worry a lot about what this will do to them mentally but trying to keep them a little in the dark and drip feed what they need to hear as I donāt want to freak them out when theyāre already missing their old lives. They seem so big and yet so small.
C is growing SO fast. Heās adorable and cheeky and so loved by us all. He makes me laugh so much and is still cuddly but independent too. He has proper little tantrums now where you can see his brain working everything out. He is even more rough and tumble than F was, he just runs and rolls around with the boys as if heās a big as them. He doesnāt talk a lot but he babbles and has a few words and is extremely good at showing you what he wants. He makes both me and B want more but 4 kids would be so tough?! The bond between B and C is amazing to watch š getting to see a proper dad and their baby is wonderful and itās made the experience this time round so different.
I am missing my friends, I am terrified of the schools going back (I wonāt be sending back till September) all the social distancing in school sounds so so scary...sometimes it hits me like a tonne of bricks. Fs summer drama club has just be cancelled and it upset me more than I thought it would. Sometimes I just want to scream for normality to come back. I miss everyone and everything so much and in our safe bubble inside and at work where I am kept busy, it feels ānormalā and then I read something or want to do something and I realise how weird our lives are now.
Itās not important but more of an update - M hasnāt seen the kids since August when it was Nās birthday. He was meant to see them for Fs birthday in March but this all kicked off so they couldnāt. The kids blame āthe virusā for not being able to see him and god it angers me so much as he just plays along with it. Like fuck off, you didnāt even see them before š they are slowly realising this.
One of the Best things to come out of this is B ā¤ļø I know weāve only been married 2.5yrs and together 4.5 but I know I hit gold with him. My heart skips a beat when we look at each other, I canāt keep my eyes or hands off him with him around all the time 𤣠the second week of lockdown was hard as we adjusted and got a routine but weāve just gotten stronger and stronger and I am just so glad to have him and glad I am stuck in this lockdown with a him and not anyone else. We are such a good team and I feel extremely lucky to have found him. Can you imagine the hell if it had been M i was having to go through this with!?
So this is a total ramble but Iām tired after my shift and just wanted to update anyone who still checks this ā¤ļø I hope you are all staying safe in these mad days xxx
Oh guys, I have been struggling.
Itās hard to love your life so much and appreciate everyone in it, but also feel like youāre drowning. Cause who can you talk to when theyāre all so perfect, when they genuinely are brilliant. When youāre supported and loved and still struggling.
But itās funny what snaps you back and helps. I thought I was doing okay, not drowning too much but the past week or two it got bad.
Today instead of staying home, I went out to my husbands work and we got lunch together like we kept meaning to do.
Tonight we went downstairs and watched Hook, one of my favourite kid films, and my heart feels lightened. This is the second night this week Iāve sat downstairs, away from the baby. Every night for 7 months once heās gone to bed, Iāve done my jobs and sat upstairs, waiting for the long and endless wake ups to begin.
There will still be many wake ups. He will still get up at 4am and Iām sure the kids will be up and down like yo-yos. Yes I have a million jobs to do. Yes I have a thousand worries..
But right now the baby is feeding, the boys are sleeping and my husband is showering and the night is peaceful.
Right now I am here and happy x
Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again, but being painfully average at everything fucking sucks sometimes.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Anonymous asked: Wait, I signed up for a trans kid when I decided to become pregnant? Are you joking or are you really that crazy?
Hey there,Ā
Iām not joking at all and I donāt really see how this would be a laughing matter to you.Ā
Yes, you signed up for a trans kid. And while we are at it, you also signed up for a disabled kid. Autistic kid. Gay kid. A kid who doesnāāt look like you. A deaf kid. A kid who will have interests that donāt match up with yours at all. You signed up for a shy kid and a loud kid and a kid who wets the bed and a sick kid.Ā Ā
Thatās the beauty, the miracle of parenthood, donāt you agree? You decide to care for a little person you donāt even know yet. You decide to open your heart and home to them, you promise to nurture and love and protect a tiny human being. How can you promise that, if not unconditionally?Ā
You canāt pick and choose your kid. Maybe even more importantly, they canāt choose you. They depend on you to keep that promise - and not only if they live up to whatever expectations you had.Ā
With all my love,Ā

Because the world doesnāt need more shitty, abusive parents in it.
Children arenāt smaller versions of yourself. They are a physical amalgamation of both parents, are partially raised by the current world and its people, and are subject to the randomness of personality, mental and physical traits that we all are.
^ TRUTH
āI had my life before me and I did not want it. I was a dumb stupid thing, a mass of senseless clay having no meaning, weary and lost. I was someone with no limbs and no flesh, not possessing the consolation of a mind nor the fortitude of a sorrowful heart. I was without courage. Hope was a word belonging to another language which I did not try to understand.ā
ā Daphne du Maurier, from āI Will Never Be Young Again,ā published c. 1932
Currently itās school holidays here, so itās a little bit mental...well more mental than normal.
Baby who has been my best sleeper by far (still waking at night but going stretches) has hit the 4 month sleep regression hard. Up every 2hrs at night for last 9 days and cat napping in the day. Considering this has coincided with jabs and the older boys being home, itās a triple whammy of nope. Heās also the only baby I know who breastfeeds but seems to dislike my boobs all other times. He rarely comfort feeds, cluster feeds and dislikes feeding to sleep. I know most would see this as a good thing but itās exhausting tbh. The only up side is that he does settle for B during the day in the carrier and will hang out with him quite happily, he just needs me for milk which is still fairly regular. Obviously this is only helpful at the weekend though.
F is his funny old self, providing comic relief as always but also having the odd explosive tantrum. We work through it, we talk through it and hug etc (once heās calmer and letās me) but there have been some difficult ones. Both boys are saying words we wouldnāt say during tantrums so we know itās coming from school which is even more difficult tbh and sometimes he just repeats words over and over very loudly. He is really struggling with letting go though, lots of tears over change, even tiny things...itās hard to always be understanding although we try as we know lots has happened recently..but some days thereās only so many times I can calmly explain things without going crazy š I feel like Iāve tried every approach I know and I feel a bit stuck with helping him.
N is struggling with saying horrible words when stressed (again, things we would say at home or he would see anywhere other than school). He is also very defeated a lot of the time, giving up before heās even started, which is a trait of mine Iād hoped not to pass on. Again once heās calmed down, we talk through it, we keep trying etc etc. But again, very draining.
Personally my mental health is declining for first time since baby was born, which is pretty fantastic for me as Iād usually have more regular dips than this...but the sleep deprivation is upping my anxiety and it means my brain is never shutting off. I canāt keep a train of thought for more than a few seconds some days, itās so tiring. plus each boy needing a bit more attention when I just canāt split myself apart is hard. My thoughts are getting jumbled more and are very repetitive. Iām also eating pretty crap some days. I try very hard with meals but itās snacking... itās my downfall. But no sleep means I need sugar..and exercise is difficult as unfortunately my body is still recovering a bit from csec problems. I feel very blob like and like I need a make over š
B is still wonderful and doing the best he can every day to help me. He often gets up with all the boys so I can lay in which I am grateful for. He does many other wonderful things but Iām too tired to list. He tries his hardest to help with the older boys too and sometimes, especially with N, he can talk them down faster. Must admit Iām better with F most of the time though.
So thatās a moan about them all, but they are still all pretty great. When N tries and succeeds, even though it takes a shit tonne of effort and positive reinforcement etc, his face and personality just lightens. It is so heart warming and I love it when we finally connect over something. Iāve definitely found it hardest with him recently as he has a wonderful connection with B and my step dad as their interests are the same (but not things I enjoy) and I just seemed to be playing bad cop a lot. He is very similar to me with anxiety too and we can clash. Seeing him laugh at something Iāve said or achieve something that he thought he couldnāt do (even as minor as making a sandwich or cutting something out) is amazing. Seeing him making baby laugh is lovely.
F warms my heart with his kindness. He can read people really well and often knows when Iām upset, without seeing my face and he understands why. His imagination is incredible and his drawing is just amazing. He is like a bright light of fun sometimes, all he wants to do is play and join in. He wants to try everything, the opposite of N!
Baby is just bloody adorable. His giggles make my heart skip a beat and the way he smiles so big when he sees me is just perfect. He has rolled accidentally twice now but maybe on purpose soon..he is very good at rolling side to side and shuffling about that way. He also loves his brothers so much, and they love making him laugh, it is brilliant seeing their connection. Oddly itās one of the times I see N come out of his shell, he is much more subtle with baby and makes him giggle a lot. Sometimes F comes on a bit hard š
M is still an arse. No change. Seen kids for total of 5hrs in 4.5 months š¤·āāļø
I enjoy catching up on all your posts when I can so sorry for all the sudden ā¤ļøs š
Tumblr basically never lets me post now but Iām just catching up on you lot so excuse the heart spam ā¤ļø
Also despite sheer exhaustion, I had this odd shower moment of trying to work out what Iād name our next child. Reciting the boys names and adding other random ones. We already have a girls name anyway but I was testing boys ones (would clearly be a boy).
chalking this up to sleep deprivation induced insanity for now šš
B took baby this morning so I could sleep a bit. I slept about an hour and then showered cause I knew Iād regret it if not, but I was so worn out it took me about 20min to drag myself out of bed, I literally felt like I was shaking all over.
When I got downstairs, baby was overtired so struggled to feed which was stressful.
I know I should be super grateful to be given this time and I am very thankfully especially as he had the older 2 boys, so had all 3 for 2hrs. I am grateful and please note heād never ask me to say thank you or anything (hes not a dick here basically) but I also kinda want to cry that an hours sleep and a hot shower is something so unusual for me at the moment, I feel guilty?
Honestly I know formula fucking sucks and I donāt want to do it AT ALL but sometimes having the life of a little one in just your hands is draining. Every morning I am grateful I survived the night and wonder how I will make it to at least a year.
Also I am sick of some part of me hurting. I am so missing my ability to lift weights and feel healthy like I could a year ago! I realise Iām only 7 weeks pp but if itās not my scar, itās my boobs or my back (sleeping funny) or just my eyes burning š
Iām moaning here cause if I moan out loud I sound like Iām not grateful for the help B gives me, and I am, or like I regret baby but I donāt. Iāll keep doing this all, every day, obviously. But it doesnāt half feel like forever sometimes š“
Sleep deprivation makes me seriously anxious and confused.
Accurate.
Just had my first shower in 5 days (which is hideous I know) and the main problem is that I didnāt even realise it had been that long. Newborns arenāt necessarily āhardā they are just continuous and never ending and trying to fit that in with the other boys and housework means I am not very high on the list of things to do. I am eating as much as I can, whenever I can though š
My mum told me I HAVE to hoover my car out. Like wow, let me add that to the list... itās so far down there I think Iāll get to it about November š¤·āāļø
Sleep deprivation makes me a very passive aggressive person.
I have to remind myself to be nice š
So I come here to update a lot and tumblr eats my posts so let me be quick.
- baby is still sleeping in very short bursts ranging from 45min to 2.5hrs. Heās 7 weeks now. Basically Iām tired š but he is smiling now and that means you forget about that crap a lot. Every morning Iām glad I survived lol.
- N is more stressed since going back to school, itās frustrating. A friend of mine just pulled her kids out due to some horrible things happening and is home schooling but I have no confidence in my ability to do that and it sucks.
- F is tired a lot from school too. Both are good overall but itās interesting to see how different they can be when at school.
- M saw them for 3hrs last week at the flat. First time in 2 months. Yes thereās ceiling damage to his flat so he shut off the bad room, but outside exists right? He wonāt see them this weekend cause š¤·āāļø (dust in flat due to work I think...) then is on holiday in America for 2 weeks then apparently doesnāt know when the flat will be fixed so will see them...at some point?
- yesterday I took baby to an osteopath which was interesting. He has silent reflux and his feeding isnāt great so have referral for tongue tie now too despite it being checked so much. He also has an infection in his op scar š
- Yesterday in the space of less than 3hrs I picked the kids up from school, we scooted to drs, did the appointment for baby, went and got his meds, scooted home, went to swim lesson and then came home and started dinner. Doesnāt sound too bad but 3 kids is tiring and I feel judged whenever I go out (āyouāre brave!ā ā3 boys! Did you know youād have another boy?ā Etc). Donāt know how you guys do this with more cause then baby only slept in 1hr slots last night too š itās sent my anxiety into overdrive today. Sleep deprivation sucks.
-first kid = never in sling. Second child = sometimes in sling, very useful but not always. Third child = always. Just always in sling. So glad I have it and he loves it, literally no idea how Iād get anything done otherwise!
- arranged to meet up with a first time mum next week. I said come over after school run and she said āokay, 11:30?gives me time to get ready!ā Did make me laugh, I think either Iāve gotten better at organising or my standards have dropped (itās both).
Nothing too interesting going on other than survival tbh Iām sorry. Iām loving having little boy here though, his smiles make my heart burst and I swear they need to be on prescription for depression. If youāre sad, go make a newborn smile. You feel so loved and appreciated šā¤ļø
i donāt have a nervous system. i am a nervous system
Bs first day back at work and safe to say due to various uncontrollable events, things are not going to plan. Fml š¤¦āāļø
