You love your husband, Kento so much. Although he seemed aloof, he is a caring person. You found all of the aspects of your dream husband in Kento; handsome, tall, sexy, heavenly voice, rich, and a s. That when someone challenged you to list all of the things you loved from Kento, you could write a whole essay about it.
But, that would be a very long and never ending discussion. So, no. You wont write an essay for it.
Yet, if you were asked if there is anything you want to change about him, you would automatically โalmostโ say no. But the truth is, yes. There is something you wish to change from him, sometimes.
No. Most of the time.
"Kento. Are you serious you're going to wearโฆ that?" you asked him horrendously. Your eyes gazed at him from top to bottom. Well, any outfit did look good on him. But seriously? That glasses? The yellow tie? The usual work outfit?
"Is there anything wrong with my outfit, dear?" he asked confusedly. You nodded almost instantly.
"It's a shame that a face as handsome as yours was covered by that nasty glasses," you exclaimed. He scowled hearing your comment regarding the armless green glasses. The one he usually wore for work. Well, you tried to comment on his whole outfit, almost.
But for now, the glasses would do.
He grabbed the glasses that you meant, taking it off from his face. Now, you could see his hazel eyes clearly. It might looked tired, yet it was gorgeous.
"You meanโฆ this? It's forโฆ"
"Being aware about the curses and also the curses wont notice if you're starring at them. Yes. But Kentoโฆ It's our night date! You're not in a missionโฆ or work right now," you complained. Yes, you knew what he's going to say since he kept saying that. You couldn't help to cut his sentences straight away and finished the whole thing.
It was as if totally drilled into your head. He looked at you amused.
"Yesโฆ But it's also for your safety. I don't want you to get hurt because of cursesโฆ"
"But Kentoโฆ We are literally going to a dinner. At a hotel. I'm not saying there aren't any curses there, but you looked out of place with your outfit tooโฆ"
Okay. Now you said it. The thing wasโฆ The man was a man of convenience. He would never bother to dress up and rather be convenient with his outfit. Butโฆ please. He literally wore his working suit for a date. Yes it was supposed to look formal, but it reminded you of work, which you totally dislike.
At first, you only wanted to comment about his glasses, but nowโฆ You commented his whole outfit. He did look taken aback with your comment. Not often you commented about his outfit. So, when you suddenly said that, it felt unusual.
"You never said anything about my outfits. I thought it was fine," he said, with his flat tone. Was he mad? Not really. But it was hilarious to see you complain about his outfit for the first time. He wont laugh about it, instead he was curious.
"At first? Since your face saves the whole outfit, dear. But I can't hold it anymore! I've been itching to dress you up!"
Yes, you had been itching to dressed him properly for a date since both of you got married. In your head, you wondered what would he looked like when you finally got to dress him properly?
He thought about it for a while. Then he nodded, agreeing with your desire.
"Sure? Why don't you help to dress me up?" he finally complied with your request. As he also want to know, what kind of style that his wife prefers? Since you finally complained about the whole outfit and wanting to dress him up. It must be terrible, then.
Although he actually found nothing wrong with his usual outfit.
An armless silver rim, green glasses.
Tan blazer and same colored slacks.
A yellow tie with black spots all over it.
Combined with a blue dress shirt.
He thought his attire was quite normal. It was fitting for him, and he could move just fine. The color combinations were not that terrible too. What's weird about it? It's practical with the brown holster too.
You went to your wardrobe to picked up some dress shirts and slacks. Actually, you had bought some of the outfits for quite some time yet somehow forgot to tell him.
Please blame it on your and his tight schedules.
"Well, actuallyโฆ I don't think you need to be too formal with your style this time Kento," you told him while comparing the dress shirts brought. You even pulled him right to in front of the mirror and he let you mix and match clothes.
"Then, what style would you think suits me, my wife?" Kento asked, more like teased you. Especially when he saw your pleased face when you found something which suited him. Although most of the things you bought surprisingly suited him. Thanks to his face, of course.
You thought for a while before giving him the answer. "Well, any style which embrace your handsome face is always the best," you answered, grinned at him. You seemed proud with your answer.
"โฆ I'm flattered you thought of that."
"You should be. You have a handsome face, yet you don't know how to use it properly," you said, while both of your hands cupped his face, and started to shaking it aggressively. He let you did that, or you could say surrendered when you kept shaking his face.
"What do you mean, by using it properly?" he finally spoke after you let go of his face.
"Wellโฆ for example, if the bartender was a girlโฆ You can get a drink for free!"
He definitely deadpanned when hearing you said that. There's no way he would flirt with other person right in front of you, his wife, just for a free drink.
"We don't play will people's feeling, love."
"We're not playing, just maximized every resource available," you said to him cheerfully. "Likeโฆ isn't it the same as me getting free drinks from the bartender? Don't play pretend when you also enjoying it for free."
"But, they gave it to you mostly because you are indeed charming," he tried to argued. Yet still smiled thinly towards you who currently happy at playing 'let's dress Kento's up!'
"So do you, dear."
You ended up choosing a simple black shirt with white slacks. But instead of buttoned it all up like usual, you left some of the buttons opened. The shirt looked a little bit loose on him, yet it added a bit of charm. Especially the way you unbuttoned the shirt to be precisely around his toned chest.
You then helped him to tuck the shirt and fold the sleeves a bit, so it would sit right under his elbows, still able to showcased his watch.
You didn't forget his belt too. It accentuated his waist perfectly. The final touch was a piece of sunglasses which you thought would suit his face more than his current sunglasses. Since he let you dressed him up, the sunglasses was the courtesy for his willingness to be dressed up by you.
After finished dressing him up, you stepped back for a bit, adoring your masterpiece. You low whistled at how different he looked than his usual attire.
Your husband indeed look delicious right now.
"Wellโฆ hello there, gorgeous," you said, while trying to make your voice sounded more sultry than usual. He chuckled at your response.
"If you said that in the office, I'm afraid the Internal Affairs would call you out, dear," he said, only to held his laugh when you pouted immediately. It's supposed to be a sexy times, with you hyping your hot husband! Why would Kento made that comment?!
"And as a representative of the Internal Affairs, they would not care because it's my own husband I'm talking about! Now, humor me and pose," you ordered.
At first, Kento seemed reluctant to do it. Yet, he finally tried to pose a bit in front of the mirror based on your guidance. He looked different, a very good difference. He actually looked like his age for once!
"Hmโฆ not bad," he commented, while nodding approvingly towards his new attire. "It's not 'not bad'! It's good!" you complained once again.
"You actually look like your age for once, Kento!"
He chuckled hearing your comment. "So, do you think I look old?" you nodded repeatedly hearing his very obvious question.
"Yes. Older than Gojo who's older than you."
You're lucky you're his wife and got the access to be able to roasted him. Especially when you compared him against Gojo, who was the main reasons of his stress these days.
The thing was, when you both arrived for the dinner, your husband, Kento actually became the center of attention for once.
As someone who based your whole career to actually able to read people by their gestures and expressions, you could tell that a lot of them stared in awe towards your husband.
Deep in your heart, you were proud for actually able to dress him properly this time. Your theory was proven right! He was indeed attractive. But simply had no idea how to maximize his attractiveness.
And, your previous joke was also proven to be right. When you both continued to had drinks at the bar, he actually got a free drink from the bartenderโwho was a woman. He seemed reluctant to accept it at first, but you told him to not reject it and actually enjoyed it.
"Does it feel nice, Kento?"
"Maybeโฆ I can get used to it."
And, yes.
The next time he needed to dress up, lets just entrust it all to you, his dear wife.

Today, it was supposed to be a happy and joyful day for both of you.
It was your first wedding anniversary with Kento, your husband. Although Kento didn't deem it as a special occasion that should be over celebrated, he knew these dates were matter to you.
Hence, he planned a special dinner with you at the one star Michelin, French restaurant at Tokyo. It even took him months for the reservation. He loved hunting new restaurants, especially since he was married, and he anticipated the event since the food looked immaculate.
But, who would have thought it was a disaster? With you ending up in a hospital, trying to survive with a respiratory assistance?
It was a total chaos. You were just laughing and talking with Kento like you usually did whenever you had dinner dates with him. He even let you dressed him up again, and there were also flowers. They were peonies, your favorite flower.
But after a few minutes you were eating the main course, you suddenly reacted. It was hard for you to breathed, with your grip against your fork weakened. Your hand immediately went for your throat, your throat was tightening.
The lack of air felt suffocating for you.
He panicked, of course. Why did you suddenly acted like that after eating the food?
The moments went blurry. You were struggling to talk, even to breathe. You heard him calling your name, the tone changed from confusion to panic, as the you fell from your sit and hit the floor while your hands gripped your throat. You wanted to talk, but no sound came out from you.
The only thing you could remember was your struggle to breath, Kento called your name in panic, as you slowly lose your consciousness.
So here he was now, in this sterile smelling room, waiting for you to woke up. The only thing he could notice was your faint breath.
His hand would not let yours go for a second. He just hoped you would be safe. Although the doctor already said that you would be fine, he could not be sure unless you woke up.
When you finally woke up, the first thing you saw was your husband's face, he was looking at you worriedly. Then he tried to say something, it sounded like words of affirmationsโeither to you or to himself. You tried to say something, but he held you back.
"Don't talk first, okay? I'll call the doctor for you," he said calmly, reassured you before he left to call the doctor.
You were still in lost, of course. The last thing you remembered was the feeling of suffocation, the oxygen wont go inside of your lungs. It was horrifying.
You were sure you didn't have asthma, so your suspicion went to the last food you ate with Kento. But, never in your life you got a food allergy, even as bad as this.
"I do allergic to zero money in my bank account, would not expect to have one for food," you commented, when your conditions finally got a little bit better and you felt like you could talk.
He facepalmed hearing your comment, like usual.
"I was worried, and this is what you say regarding the situation?"
"Should I act all scared, Kento?" you retorted at him. He knew it was your act to be all brave, but your gestures says otherwise. Hands all trembling, gaze turning empty. Of course you were scared. You never experienced it, getting almost killed by a food ingredient. Well, if your suspicion was correct.
Understood that it was your way to cope with fearโby jokingโ he was quiet for a while. He let you rest instead. His hand still held your trembling ones, rubbing circles on the back of your hand with his thumb.
You couldn't leave the hospital for observation, which was fine for you. Also in concern if you got another wave of anaphylaxisโas they called it. The hard thing was to convinced Kento to actually go to work. Kento was determined not to leave you for a second. You didn't want to make your husband worried more, but if the way to made him feel calmer was to let him stay by your sideโฆ then fine. You would let him to do so.
During the observation, the doctor even came and asked you several questions regarding the food you had ate during the date. While Kento contacted the restaurant to asked for the list of ingredients in your food which potential to became an allergen. The doctor also discussed the potential of an allergy reaction to both of you two, while he referred you to an allergist to find out more, since he couldn't do the test now.
After hours of observation, you finally went back home when they didn't found any other symptoms. Nothing happened after you went home, at least nothing bad happened. You took a sick leave and told your boss about it, while Kento called Yaga about him took care of you because of an accident.
Yet, after the faithful event, you did realize there were something different about Kento.
He was always attentive, behind his stiff attitude. But after you returned from the hospital, he were more attentive than what you remembered.
You usually had takeouts for your lunch, since you both didn't have time to cook. But the next morning you were preparing to go to the office, you saw a bento box on the dining table with his note on it. He already left to work.
'Bring this for your lunch. Kento.'
Freaking Nanami Kento cooked you a lunch. It was a Japanese style lunch, with Japanese cuisines you were mostly familiar with. You enjoyed it, of course. Sometimes, Kento would cook during his free time. It was his hobby, and he sometimes would force you to try his foods. You had no problem with it. You found it endearing whenever you see Kento acting passionate with his cooking.
But, remember. It was the thing he did during his free time. Not during his weekdays, when he was busy.
You thought it was a one time occasion. Maybe because he had extra time to spare to cook.
But you mistaken your assumption.
Next day, there was another bento. Then another one. Then another one.
It happened constantly for a week. Even during your off days on weekends. He gave you a special live cooking. Not that you never saw him cooked. But he actually sat you down to watched him cook.
You knew what he looked like right now? He looked like those live cooking chefs in teppanyaki restaurants which tried to entertained their customers with their live cooking.
Really. You didn't hate it. You loved this side of him. Yet it felt way too unusual that you could not help but to finally asked him.
"What was the occasion, Kento?" you asked him curiously.
"โฆ Just because," he replied non-chalantly, while continued to cook.
He looked magnificent with the apron, while cooking just for you. The way he played with the knife, cut the ingredients, and cooked it perfectly made him incredibly charming. But, you weren't satisfied with his answer.
"It's not 'just because' when you look all charming doing it," you said, and he ended up snickered. You and the sweet mouth of yours.
"What's wrong with me cooking for you?" he asked you confused. Although he didn't complained directly about your usual teasing against him.
"Nothings wrong. I'm just curious," you told. "Ever since I got an allergy reaction, you never absent in cooking," you continued. It was enjoyable for a while, but you didn't want your husband to got tired from constantly doing it.
Because if he did that, it means he had to wake up earlier, and regularly shopped for groceries.
Then your mind was loading for a while because of your own words.
Since allergy reaction?
"Kento."
You called his name, only for him to ignored you and continue with his cooking. Wow, why did he suddenly ignore you?
"My dear husband, Nanami Kento," you called him once again. Yet the so called husband still ignored you and focused on cooking the meat instead. The menu was simple yet definitely one of your favourite when you had no idea of what to eat.
"You're still ignoring meโฆ I seeโฆ I will just say it anyway then."
You took a deep breath, before finally saying what you had been wanting to say.
"Do you cook for me every single day for the last week because of the allergy reaction?"
There was it. You finally asked him. He still focused on cooking the meat instead of answering you back. There was a long stretch of silence, until he finished cooking for you. Still, he didn't say anything.
But you noticed that the question affected him. His movement became more rigid than before, and he avoided your stares. He didn't even bother to entertain you like before with his eye contacts and cooking tricks.
You tried to wait for his answer before demanding it back. Finally finished cooking a dinner for you, he plated the condiments into one single bowl before served it to you. Definitely a comfort menu you usually looked up whenever you had no idea what to eat during busy times. You could find it anywhere, and don't forget, most of them were cheap.
A single bowl of beef rice bowl.
It looked mouth watering. You always knew, Kento was a good cook. He would spend his free time to either reading a new book, or learning how to cook because of his love towards food. But you also knew, most of his favorite food were western food. So, when he learned how to cook, most of it would be western food.
But not ever once he cooked western cuisines for the last week. Which was amusing to see since you always loved his western cuisines.
The smell of the beef and onion allured you to eat his cooking. Considering Kento who would not answered you, you decided to take a bite first.
It was delightful as always. The combination of rice and cooked beef were comforting, just like Kento's presence. You loved how the taste of his cooking could captured his presence. Or maybe, it was also because it's been a long time since you ate home cooked food.
It made you a bit emotional.
"It's delicious as always," you complimented him, while continued to eat his cooking. You even tried to feed him some of his own cooking.
Although he was unsure at first, he ended up took a bite. While he opened his mouth, his gaze still focused on you. He chewed a bit before nodded, approving the taste of his own cooking.
You stared back at him. Well, if Kento was not ready to talk about it, then fine. You would just 'forced' him later after you finished eating the dinner.
There was no way you would waste a good food.
"You shall eat too, Kento. Aren't you hungry?" you asked him when he didn't eat dinner with you, but instead, looked out for you.
He nodded and plated his own dinner before joining you. You both ate in quiet for a while. Your bowl was half empty, and you finally said it.
"Kentoโฆ If you don't want to talk about it, then it's okayโฆ I'll wait for later when you're ready. I'm sorry for forcing you," you told him gently. Maybe he didn't want to talk about it, yet. And it was unwise of you to force him like this.
He sighed. Of course, you would never let go of a topic if you're curious. Tried to find the proper sentences, he finally said it.
"That day when you ran out of breath, unable to breathโฆ I was scared to lose you," he finally spoke. His hazel colored eyes were looking towards you, worries painted his face.
You knew it. It was because of that tragedy.
"I know, you were fine now. But, I didn't expect the restaurant that I chose would make you suffered. With me cooking and making sure of the ingredients I used, you would be fine."
That scene would not happened again.
You looked at Kento's face. He looked distraught. It was like the thing had bothered him for several days. While he was still standing, looking all distraught, you reached out to his hand, you gave him a rub with your thumb, as if you were trying to calm him down.
"Kentoโฆ I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you scaredโฆ" you apologized to him, your voice became quieter.
"I know, dear. If it was a curse, I could easily exorcise itโฆ But with your allergyโฆ If I late, just a little bitโฆ"
'I would lose you.'
The words stuck right at the tip of his tongue. No, he could not even mention of losing you. It would just reminded him of that moment.
He could not look at you. His head lowered, focused on his hand instead. The same hand which you held gently right now. It was also the hand which comforted you at the hospital bed before.
The thing was, when that happened, Kento was too panicked to even called for an emergency. Luckily, the server was quick enough to call for help. If it was late, he didn't know what could happen. Hell, he could not even imagine it.
For someone like Kento, you knew it was impossible to just told him to forget. You didn't think he would actually forget about it. But you also would not expect that he blamed himself like this when this was a pure accident.
"Butโฆ here I am now, right?" you said, you eyes gazed at him, a gentle smile painted your face. While he looked at you with concern and fear in his eyes.
"It wasn't a fun experience, to be honest. Yet, because you were beside meโฆ I felt secure, Kento," you said. His expression turned from concern to confused in a second.
How come you could feel secure when you were in verge of life and death?
Realizing your words didn't make any sense to Kento, you giggled.
"Weird, right? But it is what it is. Maybe because, I know if I went through all of it with you, you will make sure everything will be alright," you continued. Your thumb which mindlessly gave him a rub stopped, instead you intertwined your fingers against his.
His hand which usually warm, now felt cold. You just wished you could give him some comfort right now, just like he always did when you were in worry.
"But, Kento. It was an accident. No one did expect it. Not even me. Don't punish yourself because of this," you said, firmly towards him.
"But, you're in danger because of me. If I chose other restaurantโฆ maybe you didn't have go through this," he said. Guilt covered his whole face. His voice, although it was still sounds like usual, you could notice a hint of distress behind it.
"The past is in the past, Kento. Please never blame yourself for something which beyond your control," you spoke. "At least, I was glad I got through that with you instead of being alone or with someone else," you continued.
"It still sounds like a nonsense," he commented.
"At the end, I will still find out that I had the allergy one day, no matter how, or with who. Butโฆ If I went through it with you, at least I knew you will try your best to keep me safe. That's just how you are, Kento," you explained.
"It did sound weird when I say it when I went through 'that', but please understand this, Kento. It was not your fault. It never was," you said, while you gave him your genuine smile. You made sure you said that repeatedly so it was planted in his mind. Never blamed yourself, not your fault. You hoped those were comforting enough for him.
"Y/Nโฆ" he said quietly, didn't understand the way you were thinking. When he only saw the worst out of the condition, it was eye opening when you able to saw the best side of it. As in thoughts which never crossed in his mind before.
"I don't knowโฆ Seeing you all weak, unconscious, did make me worried. At the end, what I could do to avoid that again was to cook all of these on my own. At least I knew I wont put you in danger, since most of the ingredients were something you were always familiar with. Am Iโฆ overreacting?"
You immediately shook your head. "Well, if I'm the one in your position, I might do that. Except, for the fact I can't cook. I'm afraid I would poisoned you instead," you said. It made him stifled a laugh. You giggled by your own words and his. That explains why all of the cooking were Japanese only.
"And I will forever thank you for that, dear. I knew you were busy, but you still taking your time to cook for me. I could not thank you enough for that."
He smiled gently at you, then he leaned forward against you to land a kiss on your forehead. "I love cooking for you, dear. Especially when I see you enjoyed my food and eat really well."
"How can I not eat well when all of the food you cooked were delicious? Well, if I can request, I'm starting to get bored with Japanese food. You're good in western cuisinesโฆ Let's change the menu," you said.
"Well, I'm not sure if the ingredients are allergen safe. Especially we haven't found your allergies yet."
"No worries about that. If I got allergy, we have Epi pen now! Soโฆ please?"
And he laughed at your demand. Before his expressions changed.
"No, dear. I wont risk that for now," he said it flatly. You pouted hearing him say that. To think you almost convinced him! He chuckled at your pout. No, as much as he found you pouted adorable, he won't back out.
"Please bear for a while? Once we found out all of your allergies, I'll cook more for you."
"Okay. Andโฆ I'm also fine with eating out sometimes, Kento. So, I hope you don't force yourself to keep cooking if you're actually busy."
"Yes. After we found out about your allergy, maybe I can calm down. Now, finish your food before it gets cold."
You ended out eating your dinner happily.
The discussion of allergy was still linger around. The fear wasn't gone instantly, of course. He was still checking on the ingredients of his cooking, making sure it didn't contain the ingredients used for the main course which caused that fatal moment.
But at least, instead of cooking because of his fear and his worries, now he was cooking because he genuinely want to see you enjoy the meal he prepared for you.
After a month since that accident, you finally took an allergy test. Most of the thing tested were based on the menu you both ate at that restaurant. With an additional request from Kento.
"Please test her allergy towards cats also," he told the doctor while you looked at him bewildered. "Kento! I'm not allergic to those cute little gremlins!" you squealed. He ignored your complaints and continued to explained it to the doctor.
"She often sneezed when she's around cats. So, I rather make sure, doc."
You ended up tested for cat fur also. Although you complained, it was from the dust, never from the cats you often pet.
You hated the test. The area for the allergy test was itchy, yet you couldn't scratch it. You even need a help from Kento to actually held your hands so you didn't unconsciously scratch it while waiting.
When the results finally came out, you didn't expect it at all.
"I never even heard of the ingredient before. Lupin flour? As in Lupin the thief?"
"Yes. Lupin flour, not a common ingredient in Japan. But currently, the restaurant use it to create gluten free cuisine," Kento explained it to you, while reading the results.
Well, you didn't care about the flour which named after a thief. It's not like it was a common ingredient to use in Japan. As long as you avoid eating gluten free foods, it should be fine, right?
"And... mild allergy to peanuts," you continued to read the results. Also confused as for you didn't remember you got any allergy reaction from it. Not like you enjoy eating peanuts either. You disliked it. So, you had no problem not eating it.
The shocking one was the other allergies you had.
"Seriously? I'm allergic toโฆ cats?!" you complained towards Kento. The itchiness started to subside gradually, but the shock remains.
"I thought soโฆ"
He thought it was pretty obvious. But your love for cat made you denied your own allergy. You even kept blaming it on dust instead of the main culprit.
"What am I supposed to do with my life now? I can't adopt cats!" you said it dramatically. Kento facepalmed seeing your dramatic acts.
"You will be fine, dear. But yes, no adoption for cats."

But yes, no adoption for cats."
you disliked the way kento dressed himself. as a wife, it's time to rescue your husband's sense of fashion.

But yes, no adoption for cats."
imagine. imagine barbie!reader and ken!kento, but kento is a broken ken and not influenced by other ken. so when the patriarchy/coup dโรฉtat broke out, heโs pissed and ran away with alan. then they assisted the barbies to took back barbie land.
because theres no way kento would want to treat his beloved barbie as someone below him. he wanted you to soar high as who you were and to live your dream.
he just wanted to get married to you and life happily ever after.

series' masterlist (summer waltz) | general masterlist
