studyblr intro - hi ~✰

hi, my name is millie. i’m a second year university student in the south-east of england! i decided to make this account because i already enjoy running my bookstagram, but pretty stationary and study set-ups make me all warm and fuzzy inside! i also think it will keep me motivated throughout the rest of my second year, especially during dissertation planning and workshops! 

i’ve wanted to make a studyblr for a while, but was too scared to actually go ahead and make one... until now!

i thought i should make a quick post just introducing myself. i need more studyblrs to follow so drop me a message or like this post, so i can follow you and hopefully we can become friends!

what i study

i’m a classics student, which is basically ancient languages, ancient literature, and ancient history. i absolutely adore it and have always been interested in the ancient world. i am probably leaning more towards ancient greek at the moment, but i love ancient rome and the ancient near east as well. i have particular interests in macedon, northern greece, roman satire and lyric poetry, ancient legislation, and the study of papyri.  

extracurriculars?

i shoot for my university archery team.

i’m part of the classics society.

i’m also part of the museum society. 

i’m a PAL leader (peer-assisted learning) for greek history.

and finally, i’m also a student ambassador for my university.

my career

i currently work as part of the front of house team at a small museum near my university, i’m also an events volunteer at a larger national museum. 

i want to pursue a career in archaeological artefacts conservation. this is basically looking after museum or archaeological collections and ensuring that these invaluable pieces of history don’t get ruined/broken/destroyed from natural processes, etc. to do this, i will have to study for a masters degree on a specialised course after i graduate. though, i’m also interested in research.
