It's 2022 and I'm STILL indignant that the show writers had Castiel call Dean "the most caring man on Earth...the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know" when Sam Winchester was right. Fucking. There. Sam, who willingly confined himself to the Cage, to rape and torture, for the rest of eternity, in order to save the world. Who constantly tried to empathize with everyone, even the ones he was hunting, sometimes. Who raised Jack with love despite the fact that Jack's birth inadvertently trapped his mother in an alternate universe. Who was the only one who still believed in Castiel even after Castiel risked Sam's life and sanity.

Yet, somehow, the writers had Castiel direct that line at Dean, of all people.

I'll forever be bitter.

it’s so surreal to me that supernatural went on for so long that the final arc of the show was literally the main characters screaming and begging and fighting for freedom and rest from a controlling and obsessive author/god who had been writing their lives up until that point, who simply would not let them die. it went on for so long that it went from being a show where the two leads used phones with antennae and made references to myspace, to being a show where they literally referenced the “sir, this is a wendy’s” meme and dean said “galaxy brained”. it went from being a dark and gritty show shot on film to being a show shot on digital where the saturation was so bright that it looked like a sitcom even at night. after 15 seasons, all the fear and grittiness and tension had been sucked out of the narrative. it devolved from story about choosing free will over destiny into a story about whether or not having free will is even possible after you’ve discovered that god has personally controlled your whole life. the transformation from “classic kripke era” supernatural into “network controlled never-ending” supernatural was literally played out in the storyline of the show itself. it’s unbelievable.

How is it Kripke’s apology sounds more heartfelt than Jensen’s?  Oh, right, because it actually acknowledges what happened, and how exactly Jared got hurt.  Kripke, at least, seems to think it was the wrong way to handle it, and it never even occurred to him that Jensen would do it that way.

And for the Jensen fans who don’t hate Jared but are getting really pissed at him for his tweets, and pissed at those of us who aren’t already over it?  I’m asking you to take a second and imagine that Jared created an SPN spinoff without any Jensen involvement, to the point where Jensen only found out after it was already picked up and announced to the public?  An SPN spinoff with only Sam narrating, produced by Jared?  I’m not saying Jensen would call it out the same way, I’m saying wouldn’t you want him to, for his benefit and yours?  Wouldn’t you want to know he had no involvement?  As Jensen fans, would you want to unknowingly support a future SPN project that was created that way?

Ok so when the SPN prequel inevitably crashes and burns, I suggest Jensen Ackles' production company just pivots to a Real-World-style reality tv show, where the cast/staff of SPN is forced to live together for months and we get to finally see alllllll their pent-up drama
