@myy-tears-ricochet
what the fuck
were you sent by someone who wanted me dead? did you sleep with a gun underneath our bed? were you writing a book? were you a sleeper-cell spy? in fifty years will all this be declassified? and you'll confess why you did it⊠and i'll say good riddance âcause it wasn't sexy once it wasn't forbiddenâŠ. I WOULDâVE DIED FOR YOUR SINS INSTEAD I JUST DIED INSIDE!!!!!!!!! AND YOU DESERVE PRISON BUT YOU WONâT GET TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUâLL SLIDE INTO INBOXES AND SLIP THROUGH THE BARS YOU CRASHED MY PARTY IN YOUR RENTAL CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SAID NORMAL GIRLS WERE BORING BUT YOU WERE GONE BY THE MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU KICKED OUT THE STAGE LIGHTS BUT YOUâRE STILL PERFORMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!âŠâŠâŠâŠ. and in the plain sight you hidâŠâŠ. and you are what you didâŠâŠ and iâll forget you but iâll never forgiveâŠ. the smallest man who ever lived.
taylor swift albums + opening lines
girlblogger2008 on instagram
the front half of the album is so depressing and then halfway through itâs like she realizes wait why am i depressed. i am taylor motherfucking swift
Taylor Swift and Florence recording "Florida!!!" (Via Spotify)
im sure lots of people will listen to TTPD and discount it because she talks about matty in it (and ofc people have their valid issues with him, but im not gonna go into that), but the whole lead up to the album has been âweâre investigating,â and imo a lot of us took that as her saying âweâre investigating why her relationship endedâ whereas the album is actually about âweâre investigating this caricature of a girl who went through something life-changing, and she has apparently gone crazyâ and sheâs basically done a public autopsy of herself; something that the media/fans/public have done since the beginning, but this time around she was like âiâll do it to myself.â
hence, the album aesthetic feels so sterile too imo. sheâs trying to distance herself from the subject but!!!!!! she is the subject. and in conclusion, i think what sheâs really putting down is âthe summary of the investigation of this girl is that she went insane because of what happened to her, but itâs hopefully gonna be okayâ
sidenote: i think what we need to take away from the album is to⊠let her liveâŠ
- Evelyn Waugh, from Brideshead Revisited (1945)
Why do I feel like such a fraud?
Every thing I like I stole from someone else
Everything I say were words in your mouth
Everything I write is "inspired", a "reinterpretation"
I'm a dog, unashamed as I chase after passer-bys, foaming at the mouth as I beg for scraps of their personalities
the rise of âaestheticsâ as a common way to describe literally every facet of yourself is like the most destructive thing Iâve seen on social media this shit is crazy. it is the most beauty obsessed thing in such a subtle and evil way.... it goes down to the books you read the chicness of your clutter the music you listen to how you decorate your water bottle like literally every single thing you do is scrutinized and defined into egirl or cottagecore or dark academia or vapor wave or baddie or whatever and it just forces you to quantify yourself and criticize every thing you do without break ..... am I sitting down in an effortlessly cute way? Is the mess on my bedside table whimsical? Is my shampoo luxurious and glamorous? And itâs all just a way to sell shit and profit off of your insecurity!!!!!! You watch yourself from an outside perspective, making sure youâre not just beautiful but you fit exactly into whatever box you strive to belong to, and it leaves no room for mistakes!!!! You canât be embarrassing or cringey or gross or ugly unless itâs in an ironic way that fulfills a meta identity that is also quantifiable. Everybody has a uniform now that theyâre trying to fit into. If you take care of plants youâre cottagecore if you play video games and like pastels youâre an e girl if you like sweaters and reading (classic white people books only!!!) then youâre dark academia youâre tailoring every single aspect of yourself and isnât it tiring????? Isnât procuring yourself tiring????? Iâm going to rip a phone book in half
"If that was true he must have felt that he had lost the old warm world, paid a high price for living too long with a single dream." - F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
I feel so empty, but I'm trying. I sit and watch the rain at midnight. I lie in the sun all day, hoping I might absorb some of its light. I paint a picture, rip it up, throw it out, try again. I write crappy poetry in my pastel purple journal knowing full well no one will ever read it again. I make myself put something else on other than my pajamas, even for an hour. I listen to music and cry and get bored so I stop. I throw out old journals with half the pages already ripped out and stupid snapchat-filtered photos and scraps of paper (why do I still have these?). I eat donuts. I do things; anything. I try, I try, I try. I still feel empty, but I'm trying.
This love but your not singing about a specific love, your singing about all the love you've ever had. The love you had as a child, that you lost as you became a teenager and everything seemed hopeless, but it's finally creeping back.
I am poetry
I say one thing but I mean another
I am art
Allow me this lone pleasure; to be art
Janet Fitch, from White Oleander
