Crazy thought but since we know Gabriel wanted Adrien to take the mantle after him. What if the fact he wanted Adrien to study Chinese was so that he could translate the grimoire? Obviously, it never happened since him and Natalie managed to translate it in season 3 (and I doubt the writers thought of it at the time bc it was just a small detail to bring the lovesquare together at best)
But that would totally make a killer fic of Gabriel having groomed Adrien to be the perfect heir if he ever failed (which is half canon in a sense)
It's a fucking crime they never released a Leonetta duet of this song. Everyone got to sing Voy Por Ti but he can't sing theirs? A crime I say! We were robbed!!
Can we address the fact that Sky's parents were completely indifferent towards their son's sudden change of personality as long as he chose Diaspro—the one they chose for him—to be his girlfriend instead of Bloom (even after all she's done for the magical dimension).
Like, it's crazy to me how they were completely fine with him wanting to kill his friends and current girlfriend in the middle of their royal banquet. It had to be revealed that he was under Valtor's mark for it to be acknowledged, and even then, it all happened offscreen. (He even imprisoned Brandon, his childhood friend!!)
Imagine the impact on his psyche to know, your parents were completely fine with you being drugged—and since none of his future scenes with Diaspro were consensual (not implying she sa'd him, just that the loss of control over your thoughts and body is pretty traumatizing in and of itself)—and acting like a puppet as long as it went according to what they wanted out of him as a future ruler.
No wonder this boy has issues.
Not to mention that in season 2, he had to deal with his girlfriend acting off because she was being groomed by a dark copy of her teacher and not being able to do anything about it because everyone trusted Avalon (including the teachers*) and recognizing at such a young age that you're being groomed or one of your loved ones is, is really difficult.
*speaking of the teachers: it's hard to establish if they ever met the real Avalon before his enrollment at Alfea or if it was always the clone. Including when he saved Bloom/Stella/Aisha/Sky from the Trix at the start of season 2. Was it at that moment he got kidnapped, or was it Darkar's ploy so that everyone would trust him, especially Bloom?
