Have just watched the documentary called Bully.
I had tears in my eyes, throughout. I know it's common, it goes on everyday to someone, but seeing it, reminds you of the times you were picked on, it reminds you that words like, "ignore them" and, "they'll move on to something else." just aren't enough!
Children are suffering in silence, harming themselves, killing themselves, hurting others, just so they don't have to suffer anymore.
Bullying, is so rife within schools worldwide, and nothing is done to fix it.
Stop protecting the bullies! Protect the victims!
Bully: A person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate someone who is weaker.
Victim: A person harmed, injured or killed as a result of crime, accident, or other event or action.
Why, is it the first one, who gets away with mental slaughter? Whilst the second one either dies, or lives a life where they believe what these horrific people put into their heads?
Why, are kids told to just ignore it, or brush it off? It shouldn't be ignored! Bullies, should be held responsible for their actions. A child dies because of constant abuse, physical or mental.. Isn't that in a way, murder..?
And we, as adults, parents, teachers, police etc. why aren't we doing anything about it? Exactly what do 'parents' believe their job is? To protect their own child? Sure.. What about protecting other children against your own? Too many mothers and fathers like to believe their kids are perfect. They aren't you, they haven't lived life yet, they haven't learnt lessons yet. They need to not just be protected from bullies, but also taught that it's wrong to be one!
"My child would never do that." And then turn a blind eye.. Whilst their child hides a sneaky smile, only to torment someone else tomorrow. When parents start to accept that maybe their child isn't who they thought they were, then maybe something will change.
But then again, with the amount of adult bullies in the world, it's hard to believe bullying in schools will ever be taken care of.
Stop punishing the victims for being different, and start holding bullies responsible. Why do our kids have to keep dying, because no one else will come to their defense?
I'm sick of these holier than thou assholes LITERALLY getting away with murder! Yes literally.. You might as well have kicked the chair away.
