-in the end, Himmel lived up to his promise. Even without the fabled sword, he managed to save the world. He was a real hero.

-Why was the truth covered up in favor of this story, then?

-Probably because people wanted Himmel to be some mythic warrior. It wouldn't do for him to fail inside the cave. There's no place for embarrassing stories in a hero's tale.

When a new generation comes of age, they romanticize the heros of the past.

The truth of who a person was falls away, and they become an idea.
