Spent Eid with Mr.Martin and the family 💕 We went to the movies and watched Baar Baar Dekho and all wore kala chashma and hilariously took group photos outside the theater. He read the subtitles throughout the movie as usual but this time, he picked up more words (Mashallah my husband is becoming multilingual) 🙈 We loved the movie and blasted the Kala Chashma song in the car during our ride home. I'm not gonna lie..when we first started dating, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do these things anymore..Bollywood movies, get ready with Bollywood music on blast, have my partner dance for me at our wedding, excitement for Eid, etc. But I quickly learned that when someone loves you, all of you, they'll embrace the things that are important to you. Seth embraced my culture with open arms and without any insistence on my end, he willingly and happily danced for me for our wedding. He looks forward to Eid all year long. He hooked up Bluetooth speakers in our bathroom so I can blast Bollywood music louder than ever while I shower and get ready. He reads subtitles instead of just stare at his phone while I watch. He has a selection of kurtas and sherwanis larger than my selection of salwars and lehengas. What I'm trying to say is, every fear I had of me losing myself never even had a shot of becoming reality. This Eid, I'm thankful to Allah for showing me a love that is so pure and unconditional. In America today, there's such a divide..between races, religions, class systems...but when I look at Seth and the love we share, I KNOW that love can move mountains. I know love can bring people from all corners of the world together. I know that with love, differences can appear beautiful instead of weird or threatening. If you walk with love in your heart, you can find it anywhere and in anyone or anything. This Eid, we celebrated love 💛
