Better Call Saul (S5E3 "The Guy for This")
No one takes Howard's character seriously enough because no one takes Howard's bad traits seriously enough because no one takes Kim's bad experience at HHM seriously enough, and I'll forever stand on that.
Who replied it was because of misogyny and deleted it? Because YES it IS because of misogyny. When the consensus is the woman has to suck it up and be the bigger person in the long run while the man's mistreatment of her is seen as a necessary evil in his "quest" of bettering her character and career and he is hailed as symbol of virtue for his benevolent sexism that involves infantilizing the woman and restricting her autonomy -- not to mention the more hostile display of sexism he showed towards her many a time constantly being made out to be "not that bad" -- YOU KNOW IT IS MISOGYNY.
This shit is systemic. It is real. And it DOES make Better Call Saul political.

“this heterosexual couple is a lesbian couple” is a meme that becomes a convenient excuse to not examine the misogyny of the male character, also like, what does that actually mean
“all howard did was warn kim about jimmy” i mean. very notably this is in fact not all he did
BETTER CALL SAUL 4.08 – Coushatta
she is thirty eight years old. she studied accounting. she wrote short stories. her husband is a decade older. her first born has cerebral palsy. her only known immediate family member is her sister who suffers from kleptomania. she got pregnant again before finding out that her husband has cancer. she was gaslighted and lied and ignored all through the late stage of her pregnancy. her husband wasnt there when she gave birth. she realized her husband was making meth and tried to divorce him. she cheated for two episodes in hopes of him leaving her and the kids alone. she went back to work soon after giving birth. she came up with the money laundering through the car wash. she came up with the poker story obsession to explain the big amount of money. she was assaulted by her husband. she almost drown in the pool. she fought her husband with a knife. she almost lost her baby daughter because her husband kidnapped their baby. she was monitored by the police for a year. she and her baby daughter were threatend by nazis one night while her husband was on the run. she lost her brother in law. she lost her husband. she is mother mary. she is the most hated character in the whole show. she is the main woman of the show. her maiden name is lambert.

every brba/bcs character is the recipient of some kind of unique curse, but mike's is the most transparent and the most time-loopy. like hey mike, u know how u lost ur beloved son's trust and then inadvertently contributed to his death in such a heartbreaking turn of events that not even killing his killers made u feel any better?? that sucks :/ btw u are now cursed to inherit a reckless young man who is going to trust u whether either of u want it or not. no one will ever be punished for what is done to them, not even when u try to enact the justice urself. they will look at u with wrenching trust and admiration, and u will have no choice but to look away. mike was truly wearing the cursed amulet!!!

very very interesting to me how many times i’ve seen people express the sentiment that to them, skyler white is a terrible female character while kim wexler is a great one. and by “interesting” i mean it is so obvious the only reason they believe this is because skyler white pushes back against the male protagonist too much (despite, you know, actually materially supporting and facilitating his criminal behaviour much of the time). skyler and kim’s similarities don’t matter, neither does objective reality about their individual behaviour, situations, or reactions—women are judged almost exclusively on their proximity to men
tumblr user b3stialityb1tch bringing the incredible discourse to this post 😍
