Wrote this on my phone so apologies for any potential formatting errors.
Gonna preface this by saying that on a scale of one to ten, ten being a coma patient, i sit somewhere around a 9.3 at getting out of bed in the morning. This tends to cause difficulties for me as one of...
So it’s the first day of college and there are people handing out bibles everywhere
let me tell you a story
i picked philosphy as minor this semester and there are several “soon to be priests” who need to study philosophy before theology. to make it ven funnier it’s only me and other 5 women, all the other 40 are men priests.
on a rainy thursday (would you look at that coincidence) i got my pagan ass to class (heh) and i noticed some of them gave me weird looks because of my mjöllnir and my “””in your face””” pagan tshirt, so they started asking me why i was defying cristians with those accessories, in a catholic university and being probably baptized as christian when a baby.
i just let them talk and heard a lot about how wrong i was converting to an “unexistent” and “primitive” religion when i shit you not a thunder hit the building next to ours and almost got everyone deaf. i got startled but i tried to keep my cool to scare them off and i said in my morgan freeman sort of voice “don’t you call my gods false”.
they literally run away to the sight of me now.
Thank you for your continuation to my post it’s the best one yet

White Swan by tincek-marincek
And this is the piece which I did last year for Threads artbook. This goes with my older painting Black Swan…like usually, it was drawn in Photoshop and I drew it 15 hours. More info you can check on links above. Enjoy.
the legend
This makes me so happy, and yet so sad.
He was smart, he was a writer (you could tell by his phrasing) and this is something he TRULY cares about. That boy has a heart and he cares. He sees the truth for what it is and he refuses to sit idly and watch as the youth of america just stumbles by.
BUT the teacher was done. She didn’t care. She was fed up.
BUT the students were uncaring, even laughing, as this young man walked out
BUT this video was put online to be deemed as a joke and embarrass that boy.
THAT is unexceptionable
THAT is not right.
If you are this young gentleman if you are his relative, or if you have ever done something similar.
I am so proud of you
To take your opinion and share. NOT ONCE did he threaten her, NOT ONCE did he raise his voice above a proper projection so that the class could hear his words NOT ONCE did he insult her in any means past how she was behaving with her job. He didn’t undermine her. He didn’t hurt her, and yet he gave his message and left in peace.
That makes him a true, undeniable, super hero in my eyes.
Thank you sir.
My mom, an elementary school teacher, clapped an applauded this boy when I showed this to her.
That boy is great
hot damn this kid knows where it’s at
No, seriously, listen to this guy: “You want kids to come into class, you want ‘em to be excited for this? You gotta come in here and make ‘em excited. You want a kid to change and start doing better, you gotta touch his freakin’ heart. And when you come in here like you did last time and you make a statement about ‘this is my paycheck,’ indeed it is. But this is my country’s future and my education.”
I would ask him to be my TA so fucking fast.
long hair kid for president
His name is Jeff Bliss. This is Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. He dropped out of school his freshman year and decided to take his education seriously and re-enroll. Duncanville high school has almost 4,000 students. 45% are black and 45% are hispanic. I grew up in walking distants from DHS. This is a prime example of the educational inqualities in minority schools.
Because harassment happens to all genders. But guys get the short end of the stick when it comes to cosplay and consent.I intend to change this. Even if it’s a small change. Flighting the concept on my personal page, so let me know what you guys think? You’re more than welcome to inbox me your experiences as a male cosplayer, you’ll stay anonymous. Borrowed from THE INTERNET: • Avoid using degrading language. This applies to Expo social media as well. Commenting on someone’s body in a way that is derogatory is considered sexual harassment and our convention won’t stand for it. • Rape jokes, or jokes that are marginalizing to someone, are not funny. Please don’t make them, and if you feel that you have been the subject of such harassment, please come forward to Expo staff so that the issue can be dealt with confidentially. • Always be respectful of someone’s physical space. It can be pretty close quarters at the Expo during peak hours, but that’s no excuse for inappropriate behavior. Finally, perhaps most importantly… • Always remember – we are ALL people. Gender, age, ethnicity, orientation notwithstanding – we are each individuals who deserve to be treated as such. *This is a non profit project done out of the love for people.
All of this is unacceptable
Seriously, no one should put up with harassment; not guys or girls!
I’ve seen plenty of posts about this happening to girls, but this is the first I’ve seen about guys getting crap at cons, and I’m so glad it’s picking up speed. Harassment of any kind is not acceptable, and we don’t need that in our community. Keep cons safe and friendly, guys. Cosplay is not consent <3
This happens when you are bored during a Convention, have a camera at hand and a song you can’t get out of your head :D (unfortunately it is in german^^’’)

When Brazilian graphic designer Carol Rossetti began posting colorful illustrations of women and their stories to Facebook, she had no idea how popular they would become.
Thousands of shares throughout the world later, the appeal of Rosetti’s work is clear. Much like the street art phenomenon Stop Telling Women To Smile, Rossetti’s empowering images are the kind you want to post on every street corner, as both a reminder and affirmation of women’s bodily autonomy.
"It has always bothered me, the world’s attempts to control women’s bodies, behavior and identities," Rossetti told Mic via email. "It’s a kind of oppression so deeply entangled in our culture that most people don’t even see it’s there, and how cruel it can be."
Rossetti’s illustrations touch upon an impressive range of intersectional topics, including LGBTQ identity, body image, ageism, racism, sexism and ableism. Some characters are based on the experiences of friends or her own life, while others draw inspiration from the stories many women have shared across the Internet.
"I see those situations I portray every day," she wrote. "I lived some of them myself."
Despite quickly garnering thousands of enthusiastic comments and shares on Facebook, the project started as something personal — so personal, in fact, that Rossetti is still figuring out what to call it. For now, the images reside in albums simply titled “WOMEN in english!" or "Mujeres en español!" which is fitting: Rossetti’s illustrations encompass a vast set of experiences that together create a powerful picture of both women’s identity and oppression.
One of the most interesting aspects of the project is the way it has struck such a global chord. Rossetti originally wrote the text of the illustrations in Portuguese, and then worked with an Australian woman to translate them to English. A group of Israeli feminists also took it upon themselves to create versions of the illustrations in Hebrew. Now, more people have reached out to Rossetti through Facebook and offered to translate her work into even more languages. Next on the docket? Spanish, Russian, German and Lithuanian.
It’s an inspiring show of global solidarity, but the message of Rossetti’s art is clear in any language. Above all, her images celebrate being true to oneself, respecting others and questioning what society tells us is acceptable or beautiful.
"I can’t change the world by myself," Rossetti said. "But I’d love to know that my work made people review their privileges and be more open to understanding and respecting one another."”

This is so beautiful.
Reblogging for the one about Mariana because girl I feel you (and good name choice!)
why aren’t these being reblogged more often? i rather see these than “keys in hand”
Fatality
Umm so since I’m stupid could someone kindly explain each step for me like step 3 am i head butting him in the face or the chest?
I think it depends on the height of the person, but I suppose the head is a more effective target. I hope this helps :)
Step 1: Step back the moment he reaches for you.
Step 2: Duck!
Step 3: Head butt him in the chin. It’s very important that it is the chin and not the chest because it is much more uncomfortable and disorienting to have your teeth bang together especially if it cuts his tongue (which it will if it is in the way). More than likely height won’t matter. He will be leaning forward from the missed attempt at grabbing you.
Step 4: Knee him in the balls.
Step 5: When he doubles over, jab him on his back. I believe at the base of the neck just above the shoulder blades would be best. I’m not an expert, but this seems like the best place, imo.
Step 6: Don’t lose contact. Bring your other hand over and slam your hands against the sides of his heads as hard as possible. Right on the ears is the best place; it is extremely disorienting if done correctly. Then take his head and bring it down on your knee as you bring your knee up. It’s very important that you avoid the nose because if you knee his nose it will definitely break and more than likely the bones will stab his brain killing him, so aim for his mouth instead.
Step 7: Keep your knee up and bring your foot out to kick him over. Personally, I don’t like the image because it looks like she kicked him with her toes. You do not want to do that. Instead kick him with the ball or heel of your foot and put power behind it with a push.
Step 8: He is on the ground. You could probably stop here and he would get the picture, but if you really want to…Your leg is still in the air from the kick. With all your force slam the edge of your your heel on his side. It will be more effective if you lower your body first by bending at the knee of the leg your weight is on. Done right, you can break a rib or two.
reblogging again for that^
Reblogging for the steps in the image and the explanation in the comments. I don’t so much like the explanation on the image proper, but I appreciate the thought behind it (here, have a self-defense thing, it could save you) and so I’m passing it on.
My sister posted this on her FB, and my parents said it was offensive. SO FUCK THAT, I’M REBLOGGING THIS.
My friend Maggie, at the young age of 34, just found out she has a twin, and now it’s up to all of us to help her find them!
I love a mystery!
