From Classroom to Coastline

Hi! I’m Nada, I’m 18 years old and currently studying Language and Communication at Sint Maria Geel. In just two weeks, I’ll be heading to sunny Malta for my internship at The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), a college located in Paola. I’m really looking forward to taking on this new challenge, an adventure full of new experiences, people, and learning moments. Back in Belgium, and already missing the Maltese sun and vibes! My time in Malta was an absolute blast. It was an incredible experience, from the moment I landed to the day I left. I made some amazing memories, and I'm so grateful for all the new friends I made. We connected with so many wonderful people, both within my internship and in the wider community. ☺️

It was fantastic to finally put the skills we learned in school into practice in a real work setting. That's when everything clicks, and you realize why you're doing it all. It was a real confidence booster, and I learned so much. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have done this internship. If I had the chance, I'd do it all over again without a second thought! 🥰

Every story comes to an end. I have really enjoyed my stay in Malta and internship at MCAST. I really do recommend doing an internship abroad. So if you got the chance.. take it!

I am now back in Belgium as we speak, with lots of great experiences and memories. 🥰

Today is one of our last days at MCAST, it went by so fast! I made a logo for the ICARUS project it is about detecting waste using drones and AI, super interesting. We went to sliema afterwards and got some ice cream. Also… today is taco tuesday!!! (I know it is wednesday but 🤫)

We are really busy making posters for events and writing emails. I do like it, I am really enjoying my time at MCAST! 😁

This Sunday, Eleora and I went to explore Sliema. We really liked it, it is such a cute, beautiful place. We had ice cream at the coast line.🍦☀️

The girls and I went shopping this Saturday, and went eating after. While we were shopping one adorable young man stopped us to take a photo in a newspaper form, that really made our day!! 🥰🥰

We’re in our second week at MCAST already! It’s been a nice week, today I made some Kahoots for Maria, one of our mentors. We have also made many many powerpoints but fortunately we like it. 😁 Maria came and brought us some delicious croissants, how sweet! 🥰

Today we had a boattrip to the Blue Lagoon and Crystal Lagoon, it was amazing! We swum in the ocean, it was so cold but we got used to it. We got some ice cream afterwards. The perfect way to end the weekend. I am excited for a new week at MCAST! 😁

We went to the beach again today, Liezely and I swam a lot, wonderful! Afterwards we had a delicious burger. After so much sunbathing and swimming we went home. Tomorrow something super fun is planned!!! Can't wait to share it with you

Hemos estado ocupados con nuestras prácticas los últimos días. Va muy bien, nos llegan tareas interesantes como hacer un análisis de mercado, etc. Me lo estoy pasando genial. Cocinar con las chicas después de las prácticas también es súper divertido.

Today was our first real day at MCAST, our mentors have given us many kind of tasks for example making a communication plan, a logo etc. but fortunately we have learned that at school😉 Our mentors are very kind and helpful! We had a good first day, I am excited for what’s coming next.☺️

We went to the Mellieha Bay beach yesterday, it was amazing! There is nothing better than tanning with a cocktail on a sunny day😛☀️

Aujourd'hui, nous sommes allés au MCAST et avons rencontré nos mentors. Nous avons également eu droit à une visite guidée. ça s'est très bien passé ! Nous attendons avec impatience demain, le premier VRAI jour de travail. 😁

This evening we got to experience the night life, so lovely! There was music everywhere, people were dancing the whole night and the cocktails are really tasty. 😝

Yesterday was our first day, we got some groceries and checked in in our apartment. We went to visit Valleta after and it was magical! The city is really vibrant and nice. I really fell in love with Valleta. 😍 We ended the day with some food and a movie.

Excited for Malta

Malta is a small island, but its culture is big and full of life! The people are very kind, the food is tasty, and there are festas with music and fireworks in almost every village.

Something I really want to visit is Valletta, the capital city. It’s full of history, cute little streets, and amazing views of the sea. I can’t wait to walk around, take photos, and eat some ice cream by the harbor.

Near where I’m staying in Birkirkara, I also want to see San Anton Gardens. It looks peaceful and beautiful… perfect for a quiet walk and some chill time in the shade.

Malta may be small, but there’s so much to explore!
