A lot of people collect stuff when they're young. Many children collected something at some point in their lives, no matter how odd.
When I was young, I'd collect clothing tags
Yes, clothing tags. It was because I thought they looked nice, many clothing tags had beautiful designs when I was young, so I'd collect them.
Every time I got new clothes, I got excited about being able to take its tag and add it to my collection later.
Sadly though one day, my mom found my collection and threw it out; that dismotivated me from collecting them again, and at the time it had also been a while since I came across a nice-looking clothing tag. The designs had become more dull, basic, and boring.
I didn't collect anything at all for a WHILE
However, in 2024, I had started collecting crown bottle caps.
I was thinking about how it's such a waste that we simply throw them out after we open the bottle (and we had bought like lots of bottles at the time) so I started collecting them
and in collecting them, I had remembered how nice it is to collect something
and you know, I feel like collecting things is nice and can be very useful
I think that collecting something helps add some meaning to life, it's something you are actively doing and it could keep you going
It's a fun little way to add adventure into life (if i'm making sense)
And now, of course, I'm not saying to get too obsessed.
I'm not always actively searching for crown bottle caps to add to my collection, nor am I plotting everyday for ways I could expand my collection in
But it's just, you know, a little something I do, an addition for whenever I can add to it.
I don't always drink glass soda bottles, but whenever I am, or if someone else is and I ask if I can have it and they let me, it's like "cool, I can add this to my collection!"
and it's not like I was super obsessive even back when I collected clothing tags either, it was just something that came with some occasions; which is also one of the reasons why I feel like it's so fun, and why collecting something again has made me happy and reminded me of that joy.
Anyways, yeah, I think collecting things can be very lovely and meaningful and it can slightly color the world for us a little.

The fact that Rainbow Dash’s sonic rainboom gave ALL of them their cutie marks (a very important moment in their lives). Like the others ALL saw it and it deeply affected/left an impression on them, just as much as it did for RD
And the fact their cutie marks also happen to match the shapes of the elements of harmony too

honestly i really love the line “this hurt clung to my mind” in frankenstein (2025) when the creature was telling his side of the story.
A more grammatically correct version would be “this pain clung to my mind”. Hurt is the action/verb (to get hurt and to hurt). Pain is the feeling
but the creature probably doesn’t know the word “pain” so he uses the best word he knows to describe the feeling and get his message across and i love that
The old man asked him if he was hurt when they first interacted, not if he was in pain. it makes sense he hadn’t learned the word “pain”
