⸺ syscourse & opinions.
a personal post. not really discorse, just talking.
i feel like the occurrence of different parts in a system having different opinions on hot topics in syscourse not often talked about.
eg, i collectively identify as anti-endo as a strictly disordered system, but i have some parts who are endo-neutral, and a small handful who are pro-endo.
it's just sort of... odd i guess. i'm not particularly happy about it.
for the record, 'final fusion isn't my goal' is not an excuse to be antirecovery.
obviously, it's fine if you prefer to work towards functional multiplicity, but in order to be healthy as a person with a CDD there are some recovery steps that need to be taken regardless of what your actual goal is.
trying to prevent fusion or integration, actively celebrating splitting, and refusing to source separate, are all inherently unhealthy behaviors because they inhibit integration. of course it doesn't get better overnight, but the first step is to actually try to heal.
this post is specifically about CDD spaces, and has nothing to do with non-traumagenic, non-CDD systems. as always, i'm open to discussions.
i've been wanting to do more research on topics related to non-traumagenic/non-CDD plurality to participate in discussions more fully but i've been so busy with college essays that if i have to look at another scholarly article in the next three to five business days i'm gonna lose my marbles.
hello! i saw this reblog you made a bit back which mentions scripting in programmed systems. would it be okay if i dm’d you on it? i can explain the hypothetical implementation of scripts
yes, that's fine, though it may take some time for me to respond because i'm quite busy at the moment.
coming back from the dead to say that i hope the person behind that one blog everyone is talking about is like. okay.
i'm too employed for this
Can we stop with the "DID ruins your life" narrative. It's the way people treat those with DID that ruins lives. This is FIXABLE it's not some universal law.
Abuse and trauma are hard to live with and overcome but not impossible. I know it's hard but jfc you people are professionals at making yourselves and everyone around you even more miserable tbh. Go outside.
this just in: local tumblr user mad that people are suffering because of a debilitating disorder.
"Piss on the poor" website strikes again. Shouldn't you learn to read by now?
local man angry because people disagree with a stupid take
Who said I was angry lol u seem angry tho
the fact that you're 22 and acting like this is frankly amazing.
anyway, to give a genuine response: just because your experience with DID has not been detrimental doesn't mean that applies to everyone. of course society at large treats all mentally ill people awfully, but what you don't seem to understand is that the symptoms of DID can genuinely be detrimental to most peoples' ability to function.
obviously people can learn coping skills and symptoms will lessen in severity through therapy, but it takes a long time to work through trauma and practice those skills. the distress caused by having DID is immense for many.
please consider getting a job or something.
Cute assumptions. Telling me to get a job and writing all this dumb shit is wild.
local man angry about being wrong, calls exactly what he said in his post "assumptions."
all i have to say about littlecourse is that there's a fine line between saying a fully grown adult person's child alter can't consent, vote, use substances, etc. and using that excuse to actually limit a person's autonomy in general.
there's also the fact that child alters, aka 'littles,' aren't actual children, and there is a distinction (at least for myself and many people i've spoken to) between a child alter and a perpetually regressed alter.
that is all.

my previous post was made mostly in a moment of hurt and misplaced blame. thank you to the people who responded, for being kind and explaining things in a civil manner. i will be responding later.
more of a rant or vent than any thought-out stance.
i find the concept of 'willogenic,' purposefully created systems to be rather insulting.
you have no idea what it's like to suffer and struggle in this particular way. you have no idea how hard it is to lack a sense of identity. you do not get to compare yourself to the people who do.
i will never understand why anyone chooses this.
my most boiling hot take about syscord is that people need to be more open to the idea that a lot of people there just don't have DID or OSDD.
i'm not talking about endos, i'm specifically speaking about anti-endo CDD spaces.
i don't think people are consciously faking, and i certainly don't think any of them have malicious intent, but i do think they are mistaken about what is causing their symptoms. DID is not an 'alter disorder,' it is a dissociative disorder with close proximity to PTSD. it's not just having alters, it is also depersonalization, derealization, and flashbacks to traumatic events.
young people who come into system help channels asking if they could be a system solely because of identity disturbance – a very common and general experience – are probably experiencing another disorder or, the more likely scenario, experiencing a normal amount of internal conflict that all teenagers experience.
anti-endo but i'm employed so idrc about whatever it is they're doing it does not effect me that much
if someone being pro-endo is the biggest issue for you right now, you need to get off the internet and actually look at real world problems. same thing with anti-endo
