I've been putting this off and putting this off, but the inevitable needs to be said. I've been working 2 jobs for awhile now and recent events have made it quite clear that I need to turn my attention to other pursuits that can bring in more money. I simply just don't have time to run this account any more.

My apologies to everyone's threads who I'll be dropping (especially to Shinhog where I'm sure this will go smashingly on tHe anNiveRAary of the oRigiNAl KaWoRu's aPpeaRAnce & dEatH, no I didn't plan this out very well, apparently everything connected to Kaworu is pain, but your heart will go on Shinhog) When I drop a character, I usually tie up all their threads in a neat bow and run an end plot for closure (and oh boy did this account have an end plot), but any end plot for Kaworu would be depressing as hell considering his fate & I just don't have that in me right now.

Anyone with connections to this Kaworu can have their characters assume what they wish (know that he's gone, think that he's missing or just doing his normal frolicking around the multiverse gig, hell godmod him and have him floating around in the background eating your pizza if you want)

This account was originally created for an RP Group that was to roleplay through the entire NGE plotline over the space of one year (with the plot starting off entirely canon in January and growing more AU as time passed and the characters interacted more & more with others) with the entire RP to end with End of Evangelion during New Years Day 2013.

This Kaworu was originally set to die in August 2012(!!!) during the attack of Bardiel (taking the place of Touji in the series & Shikinami in Rebuild) with his love of Shinji Ikari being unrequited. Instead he had a good long run, a really long life span for a Kaworu, experienced many things he was never meant to, interacted with tons of people he was never supposed to meet, married the love of his love (twice!) and had a taste of domesticity.

Thanks to everyone I've RPed with on this account over the years and in farewell, have Kaworu dressed as a rhinestone cowboy.

I think we have quite enough battle weapons in this universe that reflect damage back upon their users without having to seek out Stands from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure as well, Anonymous one.

“Cats make up at least ninety percent of the Internet.”  Shinji tries not to sound too accusatory as he takes the thought further.  “Why?  What sections do you look at?”  He just barely suppresses the judgmental tone.  He isn’t in any position to raise his eyebrow at his husband.  His own Pre-Third Impact browsing history went to some weird places, too.

As the breeze dies down and returns Shinji’s apron to its rightful place just below his upper thigh, he pops a chocolate chip into his mouth.  He chokes on it the second he hears Kaworu’s name suggestion.  Correction:  Kaworu has ruined the moment.  Shinji might not know much English, but he knows a terrible baby name when he hears it.  Not even his golden-voiced angel can make that sound good.

“Kaworu,” he gasps, wiping away tears brought on mostly by his wheezing and hacking but also possibly by the sheer sorrow at the prospect of his future child’s very pathetic and assured playground beatdowns, “did you just say ‘McGillicutty’?”  He asks the question in a way that he hopes conveys that if serious, Kaworu has no hope of knowing his body ever again.

“Oh... me?” He presses ever closer to the other boy. “I look everywhere and at everything,” he says as his hands also begin wandering everywhere.

He then pauses and begins patting Shinji’s back as his husband chokes, idly wondering if he’ll need to perform a Heimlich maneuver over his name suggestion. In the background the batter continues to stir itself as the electric mixer prepares the first step of the icing.

“It is a fine Gaelic name descended of Mac Giolla Chuda...” He catches sight of the evil eye being directed towards him and finally laughs. “All right, all right... I am fond of it, but more as a pun for a pet name. It does seem rather cruel to give a name that has the connotation of ‘forgotten filler word’ to a child.”

And yet he can’t stop teasing. It seems to be a chronic condition.

“Although it does lend itself to many fine nicknames.”

Well, that was very unexpected. Probably Shinhog told him about his doubts and questions? Probably, or the albino would never knew about his desire to meet him again.Okay, where should he begin…?

“Ah, thank you for coming here, Nagisa-san. I’m very grateful with you for that…” He replied quietly, and then he sighed; it’s now or never. “Yes, I wanted to ask you something about that guy, “Seashore”. I know I’ve been here only a few weeks, but I’m curious about him. He scares me, but I can’t help it but wanting to know more about him. I’ve heard from Shinhog a little, but I guess he didn’t felt in mood of explaining me in detail for some reason…” He stared at the floor, shyly. “Nagisa-san… Would you mind explaining me what is ‘he’?”

What was he hearing? There really was someone else who shared the face with his most loved one could think on that way? Was this Nagisa able to do horrible things, and even worst if he could have a chance? That was reality, and Shinji believed it without a single doubt: Shinhog and Kaworu didn’t have reasons to lie. Not after all what they’ve done for him.

“So… it is really impossible to help him in any way, right?” He asked, even if his conscience asphyxiated him with the thought of not being able to do anything for him; those eyes reminded him of those who gave him a hand when he needed it, and now that he felt the remorse going around on his mind shouting out loud that he was incapable of “giving back” all what he received, didn’t calm him down at all to be honest.

A long sigh, his hands went into fists. He couldn’t run, he shouldn’t run, but… was it worth to risk his own life for his futile wish of saving him from his miserable and destructive train of thought?

“How?… How can I speak with him without being physically hurt?” was the question, even if his voice was filled with (justified) fear. “I think I need to talk to him alone, but I’m afraid he wants to kill me.”

His expression softened. “You have a kind heart, Shinji-kun. But you and those who bear your name are in the most danger from that one. If anyone could safely reach out to him -- if even someone such as he could even be reached -- then it would be another.”

Yet the only other person that dark reflection had showed any interest in was his other selves. A far too keen an interest at that. He, however, was not volunteering to act as savior. In many aspects he could be called angelic, in all meanings of the word. But even such as he could hold grudges.

And so phone numbers and internet messages were not mentioned. After all, dangers still existed within the written word as well. The sheer depth of his other self’s conniving...

Gently the other boy’s fisted hands were taken into his own.

“You don’t owe that Nagisa Kaworu anything. He is not like the others who have gained your loyalty and trust. He certainly does want to kill you -- for your own good, in his twisted mind. It’s not worth the risk, Shinji-kun.”

The words are familiar, yet I can’t quite place them.

“No!” he blurts out.  Quickly, he follows up with, “I’m okay, but I want us to walk with everybody else.  Please?”

He’s a touch insistent, but with good reason.  These past couple of months have been hard on his morale.  He needs to breathe.  He needs to be happy… or distracted, at the very least.  Kawasaki Station flips upside down and spins around him as he tugs gently on Kaworu’s arm.  If things go wrong, they have instant teleportation on their side.

Things go wrong not long after the parade is well under way.  Shinji finds  himself leaning more and more on Kaworu.  At some point, Sachiel has wormed his way into his arms somehow without him noticing even one little bit.  After checking his watch around intermission, Shinji excuses himself to attend @aoba-shigeru ‘s gig.  When he returns, he is pale and sweaty. 

His skull has been replaced with a beehive.  It’s the only thing that explains all of the buzzing in his head.  Scrunching up his nose,  he tries to separate words and phrases from the high pitch of acoustic feedback whistling through his cranium and the crunching, gnawing mouth full of white sounds next to the eardrum of his brain.  Despite the noise, he lumbers on with his family at his side, until…

It’s fuzzed up and not the least bit clear, but it’s a message and it goes right through him.  He feels that familiar sour burn licking at the back of his throat as he doubles over.  Sa-chin stiffens in his arms.  Heat flares in his right cheek.

Tears rushing down his face, he feels himself sink until his knees touch asphalt.  He feels around on his cheek for the papules whose strange roundness.  They open their mouths.  They whisper back,

“Kaworu,” Shinji addresses calmly, “we have to go.”

His husband is stubborn in certain regards. It’s always been so. And so he instead becomes a pillar of support and a constant shadow at the other boy’s side as they wander the crowds and join in the parade. A dislodged shadow that follows a few hidden paces behind when Shinji breaks off to attend his friend’s concert.

Even when the faces break through his husband’s skin, his aura of soothing serenity does not waver. After all, he is one who has always remained calm, in the wake of rotting giants and Impacts, in zombie infested apocalyptic worlds, and in and dreams where people’s faces have melted away.

A curse, perhaps? That’s always been a fallback excuse and source of comfort. Yet the cause has not been curses lately.

He kneels by his lover’s side. “Yes,” he murmurs quietly. His fingers still lightly and lovingly trace the other’s face. “Let’s go home to rest now.” And later...

It seems another Conversation must be had.
