I finished this animatic early 2025 and have made some notes abt it!!

it’s practically nagisa who failed to live up the expectation of his mother to be a „girl“, hence why „failure girl“. might also show how nagisa feels like he failed her by not being the „girl“ she wanted him to be. but throughout the series, he rejects his mothers expectations and embraces his true self.
But failure boy can also be an alternative name this animatic! fits both ways
But what i do want to say is how this song itself mostly gets interpreted as a suicide note, especially with the “To my mistake filled life, goodnight” being the last lyric. though for this animatic, we could perhaps interpret it as Nagisa saying goodbye to the version of him that doubted himself and his own talents/potential 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 BOY IDK
“Dizzy with this inferiority complex”
Nagisa’s mother has an “inferiority complex” and this line reflects nagisa’s feelings towards it. like… she practically wants to cure it through HIM RIGHT? THATS WHY THIS FITS WELL 🙂😆😅
“Surely, surely tomorrow, I’ll be able to smile, right?”
bruh. i put “Sayonara Korosensei” AT THE END HAHAHAHA IM SO EVIL
ok so i’m not so sure abt this (Also it doesn’t exactly add up with this animatic since it doesn’t exactly go down the “suicide route” or wtv but YEA ITS A HYPOTHETICAL THOUGHT) but for the line 「愛される子になれますように」 which translates to: “I hope to become a kid who is loved”, you might be able to translate the word “kid” with “girl” depending on context, especially cuz the song is called FAILURE GIRL. So.. It could MAYBE symbolize a thought Nagisa might have had about him perhaps being a girl in another life so MAYBE he wouldn’t have disappointed his mother by being born as a boy… 😅😅😅 If this animatic were to end in suicide, maybe he would have had the thought to be reborn as a girl so his life at home wouldnt end up miserable 🥀 🥀L nagisa (JOKE)
