You gotta do things with purpose and genuine intent. Not because it feeds your ego or grants you validation.
how to avoid education burnout
have 3 achievable goals a day: having a laundry list of things to do everyday is super unrealistic, and you just end up feeling bad about yourself because you didn’t accomplish your goals for the day.
leave your sundays open: i love sundays because they’re my day to chill out and catch up on school work that i wasn’t able to finish during the week.
recognize when you’re at your emotional limits: forcing yourself to get work done when you are unable to comprehend your study material does not benefit anyone.
learn how to say no: people will ask you for your time and it will stretch you to the limit, whether it be at your job, in your extracurriculars, or in your personal life. know when to step back and say no.
take care of yourself physically: take breaks, go for walks, shower regularly, get enough sleep, eat healthy, see your friends
celebrate your accomplishments: go out to eat with friends after a big exam, indulge in a night off after a busy week with some netflix and wine
make a study plan beforehand: it can be daunting to see how much work you need to put in to a class or task beforehand, but this allows you to spread your work evenly so you don’t become overwhelmed.
learn how to ask for help: it is very rare that people make it through school, whether it be high school or university or any graduate program, without needing the advice of others or just a kind soul to vent to. find that person.
never forget your hobbies: you will need things that keep you sane. if you love to play music, write, play volleyball, or cook, make you sure you don’t lose these things. they will become your escape when times get tough.
log off from time to time: it is exhausting to be constantly connected to social media and your email. just physically disconnecting from these for a night to take care of yourself can really help you clear your mind.
Dear Black girl, you deserve the world and everything in it. Don’t ever settle for anything lesser, you were meant to experience only the best things in life, you were meant to be loved&celebrated unconditionally. Black girl, Live every day knowing everything will always be in your favor and failure is only a lesson and not a roadblock in the way of your success. This life of yours is so Magnifique, so grandeur, sans pareil. Believing is for the nonbeliever but you, you know without a shadow of a doubt that that is your mantra in life. Knowing it will always be in your favor and so you will always be in nothing but the best spaces in life, all the exclusive circles, achieving unimaginable success, living a wondrous life full of luxury.
happy new month 💋
pet peeve ?
Black women not realizing their own worth. Especially in 2021, they need to open their eyes. I’m glad I joined the hypergamy/femininity community in my teens not because I wasn’t hypergamous but because I found a community full of amazing black women. Women who look like me. People I could relate to. Black Girl Magic.
It’s sad to still see things like « Is it possible to…as a black woman ? ». Girl, you are a whole piece of art. Let’s start by your physical apparence : your skin is just gorgeous and unique, you are fifty shades of brown. Your stretch marks look like gold on your beautiful body. Your privates look like a rare flower with many shades, the pink insides are the cherry on the top. Your hair is like the embodiment of clouds in the sky. That hair can be in whatever shape you want, no matter how hard you try to hide it. You are trophy wife material, your partner will always be proud honored to walk by your side.
You have a double culture, the one in your house and the one outside. Your African/Islands background can literally drive men crazy because of the stereotypes. I noticed how many second wives are black women in Europe. The times when you had to hide your love for black women are over.
Whether you are curvy or skinny, you always stand out, people always notice you because you do not look like the mainstream woman, the common girl you get to see everywhere, the well said preference. You are special. You are top tier.
I truly believe that if black women became the victims of constant bullying and gaslighting is because somebody saw our potential a long time ago and got SCARED and INSECURE. If people spent so much time to make us feel bad about ourselves it’s because they were terrified to see us at our best. The most ridicule way those people make sure to feel good about themselves is through those humanitarian trips to poor parts of African countries, it just boosts their self confidence because for a moment they have the upper hand on weak black people, since they know we no longer take their shit. They need to convince themselves that we are inferior to them. (Not all people tho)
Those very people won’t educate themselves because they love this image of us.
We are like a secret treasure and everyone knows the location but they are too impressed to make a move because they are intimidated by our aura. Maybe they get burn when they try to touch us. All they can do is talk, imitate or punch the air because they are frustrated. Their hypocrisy translates into the way they want us to have the spotlight only as a 'strong black woman'. They keep us at distance because they can’t handle our grandeur and our feminine energy face to face. Our vibes and flow are immaculate.
We are the blueprint and the fall of the BBL culture just prove it. Once again, somebody saw the rising of educated and gorgeous black women who rejected the whole rapper baby mama culture (a popularized culture) and they got scared. I saw comments about how competition will be tougher but hey, we are not in a competition, we are focused on ourselves. They see us as a competition, let it be one-sided so don’t worry and do YOU. Be even smarter and use the fact that you are a black woman to level up because in terms of image, an educated and gorgeous black woman is always good news.
And yes, everything is possible as a black woman as long as you play your cards right.

Be strategic. Focus on the good. Incentivize the best outcomes. Choose the upside. Assume the fucking best.
Remember: patience above all else.
