Hello everyone!
Welcome to the sideblog! Made mainly because I began a hobby learning to get better at painting my own nails during the pandemic years and now still enjoy trying to recreate pinterest nail art that I find popping up on my "for you" page. The purpose of this blog is to be a record of my attempts, my wins, my failures, and inspirations for future self to look back on. I hope those who stumbled upon this stick around the blog and enjoy the ride!

Today's polish is WILD. This polish has a blue base with red to orange to yellow aurora shimmer and then within that is a light blue to purple magnetic pigment. I also saw magenta in the magnetic pigment as a well. It felt like every way I turned my nails I saw a different color. And the color combinations were so funky and unique. Yeah, I want more magnetic polishes from this maker. This is Experience from Cadillacquer.

Today I am doing red nails. Maybe this isn't the place for a life update but, my gran loved red nails. It was her favorite nail colour, to the point where she had so many of Seemingly the same colour and would get offended if you said so
I said goodbye to my grandmother for the final time alive this week.. she was far far too gone to do her own so my sister and I did them for her, her favorite shade of red... I will be paying my final respects to her tomorrow. Red has never been my favorite colour, nor have I ever thought it looked quite right on me, but decided to try on one of her more favored shades in rememberance..
Looking at it I find myself remembering all the times she tried to teach me and my siblings how to make tostones, the wise cracks she always seemed to have, her cackle as she gossiped with my aunt on the phone about some nonsense their other siblings were up to. The times she tried to convince me to wear red with her..
..I will be wearing this tomorrow in rememberance of her, and to wear red with her one last time.
Maybe far too late, but red may have a larger part in my polish collection now

Attempted some subtle french tips with sparkle and really liked how they turned out!
I know this is just a side blog, but I've been getting an uptick in p/or/n bots trying to reach out, and it is a nuisance. This is just a silly space for me to have a bit of fun. When I see someone has followed, I get super excited and look to see who found my blog interesting enough to follow me... just for that spark of excitement to get washed down the drain.
It turns out that this cluster of people suddenly showing interest in my hobby were not only uninterested after all, but are in fact, not even people. I do not post for likes or to bring in followers. This is just a space to express myself and put my creative juices toward something that makes me happy. But I can't help feeling just a tad bit disappointed when this cycle repeats so often.

Attempted some more 3 dimensional nail art and got some groovy patterns. Kinda digging it!
Wanted to get back into violin, so I chopped the claws again XD
Getting into the spirit of fall, I decided to try my hand at a mocha inspired nail design!
Admittedly not my best work buuuut I still kinda like it! Hopefully next time I attempt this design I will have developed a steadier hand!
Until then, I'm going to disect the House of Leaves novel with some coffee

Yeah, ASMR is not my strong suit, but this was fun! Kinda gives me a sense of whimsy that I couldn't pass up capturing XD
Getting ready for the Ren Fair! I purchased a set of Wudu Nail Rings online from the OG tiktoc creator.... but they still haven't arrived so I took matters into my own nails!
As a little experiment, I made these using 12 gauge aluminum wire from Joann fabrics($4) and a wire cutter. Very easy to make and was a fun project to keep me entertained until my package arrives. Now, all that's left to do is glue the nails to the rings and see how they wear tomorrow. If I don't post an update, it probably didn't go well XD
Welp, this actually went pretty well! The press-ons stay decently on the rings and make for a fairly sturdy piece of jewelry. And it makes a satisfying clicking when I tap on hard objects. I may try this with longer press-on nails that match my character's asthetic, but as of now I think my costume is ready for the Ren fair!
Welp, here is the final product! It is every bit as mystical as I had hoped and am super excited to be a blingy renesance magical lady! Wish me luck!

I don't have any major nail events coming up now that the Ren Fair season is coming to an end, but maybe I'll do a last minute cosplay for the anime convention or something. Either way, I find a way to enjoy these
