PBE Day 2!!!

Things have been so busy since getting back from Chicago that I'm only just now getting around to posting about Sunday! @lesmotsdemoi and I got VIP tickets to Sundays expo, so we were admitted 1 hour early to the event and got VIP bags. The bags had 25 polishes and other fun goodies which we looked at while waiting in line for the doors to open.

Once we got through the doors we headed straight for the Lurid Lacquer booth. The polishes were displayed so beautifully. 🤩🤩🤩 We were handed tiny shopping baskets and I tried very hard not to grab every single polish I saw. It was a struggle. 👀

I wish I had thought to take more pictures of the different booths but I was too overwhelmed by all of the choices to remember to take pictures after Lurid. The makers I visited were: Lurid Lacquer, Jen & Berries, Zombie Claw, Stella Chroma, Garden Path Lacquers, Atomic Polish, Cupcake Polish, Glisten & Glow, Swamp Gloss, Sassy Sauce, Rogue Lacquer, Tyler's Trinkets, KB Shimmer and Envy Lacquer.

After amassing our hauls, we crossed state lines, (Saying it that way makes me feel like we did a heist. 😂 Our hotel was just inside Indiana.) dropped everything off, and had an absolutely incredible dinner. It was a perfect end to a perfect day. I really hope I get to go back to PBE one day and in the meantime I can't wait to share all of the polishes I got while I was there! 😁 Thank you so much for going with me Christine! This trip was as fun as it was because I was able to share it with you! 🥰🥰🥰

Today's polish is SO PRETTY. 😍😍😍 I think I've finally figured out how to pick polishes from PBE. The first booth we went to on Sunday was Lurid, which I posted a polish from yesterday. The second booth we went to was Jen & Berries, which is the maker of today's polish. Tomorrow I'll post from the third booth we visited, etc. At least that will narrow down what I have to choose from. 😂 This polish has a blue base with pink to gold to green shifting shimmer, and silver and fuscia microglitter. I love the way this shimmer shifted indoors, but I REALLY love how it sparkled in direct light. 🤩 I thought this just had crushed holo so I was super surprised by how that holo twinkled in the sun. This is It Is So Choice from Jen & Berries.

Today's polish was the winner of what was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever made: the first polish to wear from what I bought at PBE. 😂 This one has a clear base that is loaded with iridescent flakes that shift from orange to gold and blue light reflective glitter. I LOVE how this looks. It is a close dupe to Glitter Path from Polished for Days, which I bought way back in 2022 and wore before I started posting here. And if you can imagine, it's even more sparkly in real life. This is Sunshine on the Waves from Lurid Lacquer.

PBE Day 1!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Yesterday was SO MUCH FUN. In the morning @lesmotsdemoi and I went to a nail polish making workshop. After showing us how to make a magnetic polish with reflective glitter we were able to make 5 polishes on our own. Getting a video of me mixing the pink reflective glitter while holding the camera was harder than I thought it would be, but I tried! 😂 I really like the 6 polishes I made and can't wait to make posts about them individually once I'm back home.

In the evening we went to a dinner/meet and greet. The owners of dozens of indie brands, many of whom I've been buying polishes from for years, were there to show what they would be selling at the expo tomorrow. And I got to meet Kelli Marissa!!! 😱🤩 I've been watching her swatch videos on YouTube since I first started painting my nails regularly back in 2022. She was so lovely to chat with in person. I had no idea she was going to be there so that was such a nice surprise.

We're in line now waiting for the polish expo to open in 5 minutes, so I'll have more pictures from that soon! 😁🥰💅

Today's polish is bright and pink and painted while hanging out with my nail bestie @lesmotsdemoi!!! 🥰🥰🥰 This has a red base with a shimmer that shifts from red to pink to orange with holo microflakes. I love the shimmer in this, but the shift was hard to capture. I finally got it to show up in the car while driving from the hotel to PBE, which is the first picture. It had incredible coverage too and was almost a one coater. I've had so much fun today and can't wait to share more with you all! This is Apple from Glisten & Glow.

Today's polish is yet another Bee's Knees magnetic because I can't help myself. 😂 It's official description is a dark berry base with a green mosaic magnetic that shifts silver, green, and blue. That's just the beginning of the color shifts I saw though. 👀 It was almost like there were two magnetic pigments: a blue to purple to pink to orange to gold that stayed where I expected it to for glass bead magnetization, and a green to magenta to red that spread sparsely across my nail like I had magnetized it in the velvet style. The color shifts were most visible in direct indoor light, so that's what's in my video. On the bottom left, I took a picture so you can really see the magenta-red shift to this pigment. I don't know what magic BKL does with their magnetics but I want more. 😍😂 This is Godstouched from Bee's Knees Lacquer. Also! Today's polish is yet another stellar magnetic from Bee's Knees. 😍😍😍 This one has a blackened raspberry base with fuscia magnetic shimmer. But as you can see in my pictures and video, the shimmer shifts from red to fuscia to orange. I love how dark the base was without being so dark it looked black. Unfortunately it was overcast today so I had to make due with direct light pictures in my kitchen, but I may reblog with sunlight pictures tomorrow if I can. The sun was out today!!!! 🤩🤩🤩 I got these pictures in my car while coming home from work. I love how red it is in the second picture. "Fuscia magnetic pigment" does not do this polish justice.

Today's polish is a very interesting green. I bought the whole collection this polish is from and it was the one I was the least excited to wear. It has a sage green base with crushed holo flakes and blue iridescent microshimmer. The formula was great and it was opaque in two coats. I thought the way the base color made the holo look gold in the sun was really interesting. Overall I liked this one much more than I thought I would. This is Sage the Day from Holo Taco.

Today's polish is a gorgeous purple. ❤️😍❤️ No official description but from what I'm seeing it has a dark purple base with a magenta shimmer and holo flakes. It had a great formula and super saturated rich colors, which is what I've grown to expect and love from this maker. This is Prototype 597 from Lurid Lacquer.

Sometimes a polish maker comes up with an inspiration for a polish and you immediately think "This is going to be the cutest thing I've ever seen!" Well, THIS IS THE CUTEST THING IVE EVER SEEN!!! 😍😍😍😍

Today's polish is yet another example of why I can't stop buying BKL magnetic polishes. 😍😍😍 The base is violet (although to me it just looks dark blue) with cyan to purple multichrome magnetic pigment. The color is SOOOO saturated and bright for such a dark polish and when the magnetic pigment shifts purple like it does in the last picture it is STUNNING. This is Bad Vibes Only from Bee's Knees Lacquer.

Today's polish is my (and @l0vegl0wsinthedark's and @julcheninred's 😂) kind of pink! 💖😍💖 It has a magenta base with a purple to pink and a red to orange shifting shimmer. It's so saturated and bright that I couldn't stop staring at my nails. And then at just the right angle the shimmer would shift orange and make the prettiest gradient across my nails. 😍😍😍 It was almost a one coater too; I just barely needed a second coat. This is Does It Sound Like I'm Ordering a Pizza?! from Great Lakes Lacquer.
