Tiny gold amulets in the form of the “nefer” sign decorate this necklace. In ancient Egyptian, the word nefer means “beautiful.” Small nefer amulets like this were not worn alone, but usually were strung in concentric rows in elaborate broad collars. The fish and poppy flower amulets were carved from carnelian. Easy to tie unisex obi by Fujikiya. I have a similar item made from repurposed obi: it’s a long rectangle with reversible designs, and thick ties on both sides. This item can be a nice DIY project as it’s easy to sew, easy to use, and looks lovely Western clothes too!
