It's my first time felting and who better to make than @pocketss little not goblin?
The latest comic by @_pocketss was so absolutely adorable I just have to make this little guy.
He may not be a Goblin, but he sure is a cutie pie!
Created using felting wool, he was a absolute pleasure to make.
the girls...
I was immediately captivated by this character, real "my future lifelong partner" vibes from them
was delighted to see people enjoying the scavenger's design :'D
Awesome video displaying phenomenal craftsmanship—posted by one of my favorite Tiktok accounts: Tlingit_Haida
Aani (the land known as Southeast Alaska) has been home to the Tlingit and Haida Peoples since time immemorial
Edit: To clarify, this particular video features Git Hoan Dancers, of the Tsimshian Tribe. They say so in the video, but I realize my caption about the Tlingit and Haida Nations might cause confusion.
this is amazing1
The masks look so much like the ones in museums and cultural centres while still being articulated that way. Look at that amazing skill.
Its so smooth that it took me a moment to realize those are modern masks and the historic ones don't move like that.
In fact, Tsimshian masks with moveable pieces, like this one, have long been a part of Tsimshian artistry!
Here, Tsimshian artist David Boxley discusses the masks:
And here is a short video discussing Portait Masks!
An interesting demonstration of how the human brain works.
But also something of a lesson regarding perception, and the unreliability of subjective perspective versus objective reality.
You can be extremely certain about how you perceive the world, your "lived experience," that which you "feel it in my heart." But that doesn't mean it's actually true. And it doesn't mean we have to endorse it, or ignore or outright deny objective reality.
That's a "you" thing, not a "we" thing.
shout out to the sound designer who was like "I know exactly what kind of music to whip out for this one!"
I've never actually seen this before, and WOW is that cool!
