Something’s been bothering me for this entire volume… and it’s best summed up in my issues with the “reunion” from episode 9:
“These past few days I’ve been worried about the same things you were. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be… me. But I did some thinking, and I do know I want to do everything I can with what time I have left.”
I realize the team is just so happy that he’s okay that they aren’t really absorbing his words, but… it’s more than that. It’s the ease with which Oscar has accepted that he’s going to vanish, or be consumed by Oz.
I also realize I was one of the primary advocates of “the merge” theory last year, but after the Lost Fable I no longer believe it to be true.
So what you’ll find beneath is a detailed analysis of why Oscar is wrong about the merge.
