Knowing how much of a big day it was for her husband, Eunji quiet stood behind the curtains by the side of the stage as she did not want to ruin the moment that Woohyun was being immense in. She watched over him carefully, while at the same time trying to hide from the gaze of possible fans. Some of them were nice, smiling back at her and gave her a light wave but some rolled their eyes at the idol as soon as they noticed her being there. But she didn’t mind, she learnt how to ignore the attitude that the fans give after such a long period while dating Woohyun.

Everything else was proceeding smoothly before a sound of horrific bang followed by screaming of the girls filled the venue and there he was, laying on the floor while a hand was being pressed against his chest. Eunji rushed forward with all the energy she had from the shock and knelt down next to her beloved husband, she didn’t know what to do at that very moment as she wasn’t able to register what happened but instinctively, she held him in her arms while her eyes were fixed on the blood staining his shirt.

“Woohyun-ah..”

Her voice quivered while keeping arms around him tight, a palm placed above his. Nothing could be registered in her mind, she couldn’t remember being pulled away from him where she would board the ambulance alongside him. All she could remember was his lovely smile from the start of his solo fanmeet and now, the blood-stained hand that she was holding onto. She remembers praying quietly while watery eyes fixed on his features.

“Baby, don’t leave me…”

how the day turned out to be like that, no one knew. everything was going so well and woohyun couldn’t be any happier. seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces, listening to all the congratulations and speeches dedicated to him.., that was all he ever wanted from life. as scared as he was to be promoting alone without the six other guys, he did feel like he was on top of the world for that short while before things started to go wrong.

the bullet was digging into his flesh like it was nothing. the pain felt almost unbearable, making him fall to the ground. his limbs were numb, mind going blank. everything happening around him was a blur. why? -- that was the only question in his mind. why would someone ruin it for him and for everyone else. all the fans and loved ones got a massive shock and there was nothing he could do about it. the person behind something as tragic as this, woohyun really didn’t understand why they would do that. it really was too much.

» ah, hyerim-ah.. « , the words were muffled out as soon as he felt the warmth coming from the person he treasured the most. he always told her not to hold him in her arms when he was upset - that he would be just fine sooner than she could even imagine. this time, however, her skin on his felt better than ever. he was shaking, body temperature going down. » don’t- you don’t have to worry.. « , the male used all his energy to form a small smile on his lips while breathing out the words, his eyes barely even open, » i will be okay... «

as much as he hated it with all his heart, for once he wanted to be there in her arms and never let go. but the sad reality kicked in, the paramedics carefully lifting him away from her; an oxygen mask placed on top of his mouth and nose. everything was fuzzy and all he wanted was to close his eyes and forget everything that just happened.

it was a big day for woohyun. his solo debut finally happened after years of hard work and keeping his hopes up to do the same infinite’s leader got to do a few times; promote as a soloist with his very own album with his own songs. to woohyun, it definitely was his biggest dream and to think that it finally happened made him the happiest person on earth. and of course, like always, arranging a fanmeet was a part of it all.

» we will be doing the hi-touch first and later on, you will be getting your signed albums. while waiting in the line, please keep yourself hydrated and share your snacks with everyone, got it? give a little love to the people around you because if something happens, you’d make me really worried! «

woohyun had an endless amount of love for his fans like most people knew. doing something like the hi-touch event was like amazing in his opinion. being so up close to his beloved fans and hearing their encouraging words made him feel so much better about not just himself, but the whole album release and his chance to build up his solo career - no matter how much he loved infinite and the six guys who were always there to stand by his side. the day seemed to be perfect. a little too perfect, even. his family was there along with his wife, apink’s eunji, who was also one of his biggest pillars of support along with others. she was his biggest fan and it meant the world to him.

and just like that, everything went downhill. no one knew who the voice belonged to, but the words were filled with fear. it was loud, followed by a lot of screaming. of course, the security working at the venue needed to make a move. they couldn’t just stand there and let something horrible happen - but that’s exactly what happened. they were too slow; there was nothing they could’ve done to stop what just happened. it was like a scene from a nightmare, a really bad one.

screaming. running around -- and bang.

of course i did, i always miss you when you’re not with me~ (´he nods in the most assuring way possible, the wide smile sticking in his features - his arms slowly sliding around her as well.) i was, there’s still a lot of leftovers too, you can have some if you want! that’s all i was up to anyway, eating the food.
