Poetry: the thing about life

The words you spoke are like a bird

If they're gone once, they're never coming back.

You can try to catch them in the middle of the night

But free birds will always fly away.

The moments you had will never return

The only thing remaining are memories of them.

The future of your own beating heart

You will never be able to change in advance.

There are only two moments you can influence

These are time and place, the here and now.

Don't let your life be destroyed and ended

By people wanting to drag you down.
