it's so sad that we see mumbo put two pictures in the same room together and collectively go SEE!!!!! GRUMBO ARE SOOOOO INSANE ABOUT EACH OTHER!!!!!!! SEEEEEEEE!!!!!! they used to stare into each other's eyes and stream together for hours and make cuddling sounds and film irl documentaries and road trips and summon each other with demonic circles just because They Missed Each Other So Much and now we're hysterical over two pictures being near each other because they both have the same trees on them and that's just a rare reminder that mumbo hasn't forgotten about grian yet and there is still a tiiiny bit of initiative from his end. yeahhh they're sooo insane. let's get you to bed granny

I think this is because 1) Season 10 was so dry and how little we got grumbo interaction in total that the community will now take crumbs of interaction instead of actual true meaningful ones where it is clear they ARE insane about each other and 2) Relying too much on Mumbo or Grian to interact and focusing on what will happen next instead of working on what we already have and how we can expand that dynamic than.

i fear we do need to point out that they are still insane about each other…… s11 has been chock FULL of moments like the old “insane” ones . the whole cardboard mumbo arc for example . but anyway the picture thing isn’t just about how the pictures are next to each other, it’s about how much they mirror each other!!!! it’s about how these two are inseparable down to the smallest things, and we need to actually appreciate that. their “insane about each other” moments don’t need to be big and grand if you know how to read the small moments too. like, it’s not like mumbo’s forgetting about grian either, he’s mentioned him for nearly 10 episodes in a row now!!!! every recent stream of his has at least 4 mentions per hour (sorry to get statistical but that’s my Thing) but RGHHH the only reason we don’t get as much grumbo anymore is that the real people have real lives !!!! real busy lives!!!!! s11 has been one of the best grumbo seasons in years and i HATE how people are just ignoring that !!!! we DO have streams of them hanging out now, not many bc mumbo’s a busy man, but we DO!!! we technically have more than the old days considering there was only one stream in s6 where they actually talked outside of ingame chat…. ok i went on a tangent and i am now stopping here so, in conclusion, grumbo are still insane about each other, and everyone just ignores it for some reason.

i didn't mean that small moments don't matter or that any gesture must be grand in order to be important. i meant that we adapted to consider the smallest things "INSANE" for shipping and it is a big stretch. i myself reacted that way when i saw the episode -- i was incredibly happy but quickly realized it was not that big of a deal at all and it was very different from what they used to do together. the bases just happen to be geographically near each other and share the composition elements in the photos, that's all. i can't see love or affection as a mathematical sims thing where you have to do like, five small gestures or three big ones in ten days to become best friends or lovers, it's about the quiality. and the quality, in my opinion and for obvious reasons, has changed a lot, so now we have to convince ourselves that the trees that mumbo copied from scar block for block that happen to be visible in both pictures are the reason grumbo are madly in love with each other. from my perspective, it's not. the og post was not a comment on how grumbo are not insane about each other at all. i just -- while still loving grumbo to death and shipping them insanely -- can't see why a platonic gesture that was explained to have nothing to do with another person must be read as a romantic or obsessive thing, and for me it's sad that I read it as romantic purely out of boredom and desperation for their interactions. it's become a general shift in my mentality and vision for shipping over the last year and i didn't maintag the post for a reason lol.
